Overview:
The first deck I've felt comfortable grinding gauntlet considering I don't have many cards. I did 100 matches and recorded the results (found at the bottom for those that are interested).
tl;dr - the final record was 88-12 with an even 5-5 against bosses
Card Choices Explained:
Auralian Cargo - fixes influence and gives the deck access to needed tools
Predator's Instinct - staple of any Grodov's Stranger deck
Annihilate - probably the best removal spell for gauntlet
Cull the Deck - helps dig for specific cards in specific matchups, usually digs for power or hailstorm
Reunite - I wanted to consistently have access to Grodov's stranger
Extract - helps against aggro and adds consistency with scout
Hailstorm - the only reason to run primal in this deck, hailstorm is needed against the many aggro matchups
Scorpion Wasp - helps kill things that annihilate can't hit
Wisdom of the Elders - staple of any primal control deck
Feeding Time - stops entomb effects and also hits things that annihilate can't hit
Vara, Vengeance-Seeker - pops Aegis and adds the much needed lifesteal
Worldbearer Behemoth - great statline with an on attack trigger for predator's instinct
Grodov's Stranger - one of the best cards in the game right now, amazing in control shells
Changes I'd Make:
While most of the cards in this deck are pretty necessary, the only card I'd consider dropping is Reunite. Most of the games that I lost were due to being power/influence screwed, so I might consider Seek Power in it's place. I don't own any merchants yet, but if I did, I would have a market to help with fliers and relics.
tl;dr
-2 Reunite
+2 Seek Power
+? Auralian Merchant

Speaking of Gauntlet grinding, I feel aggro decks are a lot better. For example, I recently grind gauntlet with a skycrag dragon list and it felt pretty good. I didn't keep a record but it feel that I get results distribution of 7-0, 6-1, and others in about 45%, 35%, 10%, respectively. The main difference, however, lies in the speed of grinding. A game usually takes only 3-4 minutes. So I get to open three silvers within 25 minutes with aggro decks.
You mentioned you want to do a series of these. Can you focus more on aggro decks?
