Nothing particularly spicy here - just a bunch of units filling out a solid curve. My week 1 and 2 pools were sort of a mess - I had good cards in Fire and Shadow, but almost no fixing. On the other hand, I had a ton of Primal and Justice fixing, but no real payoff - I had fine units, but almost no removal or interaction. Week 3, I opened
Manacles, and it finally let the deck come together - I could finally drop my Fire and Shadow cards and take advantage of the rock-solid TJP influence I had, with stuff like 2x Blueprints and 2x
Hooru Stranger. This also made the Primal splash for
Mandatory Retirement a lot safer - and since I had two of them, it made my removal suite even more consistent.
Went a combined 8-6 in the first two weeks with my mess of a pool, but went 11-5 and 9-1 in weeks 3 and 4, bringing me up to a very respectable 26th place (update: I've since fallen out of top 50. Alas!).
As for the deck itself... silky-smooth fixing + reasonable units + strong curve + a bit of premium removal = good stuff. 2x
Stormhalt Concoction also worked out great, providing a bit of additional card advantage and reach in the form of surprise evasion. Jumping
Maveloft Botanist was also quite nice.
