A modernization of my classic
Deadly Pinging Cats deck, which revolves around giving units that ping Deadly. I've marked it as a WiP as I've just returned to the game and seeing which of the new cards benefit the deck, but the core principle is well tested and still works sweetly.
Main strategy is playing
Kyrex Coach Driver (if you get it to stick - you win), then either naturally drawing with Nightfall, using draw cards or
Blight Pass Smuggler into anything that pings. The pinging units do well even by themselves vs an aggro deck (
Tripwire Grenadin feels delightfully unfair vs token decks) and when they die, they make for a nice turn 5
Kyrex Coach Driver+
Dark Return, but often you'll want to market or stash them away with
Strategize when unneeded.
The usual best unit to make deadly is the
Tripwire Grenadin, who deals deadly twice directly and potentially a third time as a blocker. Of course the ultimate best unit and win-condition vs most decks is wiping the enemy side with a Deadly
Black-Sky Harbinger ;) The new card
Tamarys, Earthshaker basically serves as a baby BSH for the purposes of wiping everything with a single deadly 3-cost AoE ping.
Lightning Sprite is not only a great card cycle but also
Torch bait, leaving room for a safer
Kyrex Coach Driver. As usual, if you get Kyrex to stick, you basically win as almost any unit you draw is removal and you can market with
Blight Pass Smuggler for
Stormcaller for a guaranteed deadly engine.
Comment and/or +1 if you enjoy the deck, it'd be good to know sharing a personal unique deck like that is worth it :)
I think this deck also need a finisher against control decks with sweepers, might even consider running recurring nightmare. With varas +3 attack and lifesteal it is growing fast and getting life for you.
I imagine this deck could be reworked into a much more controlly version with sacrifice methods and several mainboard Sanctums (marketing or Strategizing the others away).
I would have never thought of the Nightmare addition. I imagine it must be great with the Sanctum, considering it's often a miracle card even by itself.
If so, I may explore bringing back Hailstorms to help reduce own units or including some Devours packages :)
Anyone tested it in the current ladder ?
Ive been testing it to, super fun when you pull off the combo but usually its too slow for the current ladder.
You got my +1 anyway :)
