This is my grinder, this is my...
Are you already at masters in gauntlet?
Do you have shiftstone to burn?
Do you want to burn that stone on Time units that are just good?
Good old reliable value beat sticks?
Do you enjoy torturing the AI or making five minute games take hours for no good reason?
Well then! Have I got a deck for you!
TL;DR:
Supply Lines is kind of stupid.
Game Plan is mostly the same as
This is my grinder, this is my.... We’re leaning into the synergy between
Alhed Ascending,
Gnash, Desert Prince, and
Grodov's Burden. Again. You’re stalling and grinding until you can set that up. Other units are tech for deadly, plunder, market access, and power ramping.
Water of Life for market or plunder fodder. And, sometimes life!
Rune of Relocation and its
Teleports are
mostly there to bounce your market access, but can also be used to deal with pesky weapon upgraded enemy units or your own
Permafrosted units.
Market?
Infinite Hourglass ends games. When you can block and attack with buffed Alheds (and other Overwhelm units)... Games close quickly. I mean, if that’s what you are into.
Grodov’s Burden hardly needs any introduction as a market card. It’s just good and I already mentioned the synergy with Alhed and Gnash. (Yes, it remains good after the nerf. I might even go so far as to say, "fair.")
Forget is surprisingly useful here.
Passage of Eons WAS a flex slot, but I’ve come to see it as an essential tech piece for pesky attachments and unit abilities.
(Those two "silence" slots might seem wasted to some, but I use them again and again.)
Supply Lines Enjoy this lunacy while it lasts folks. It’s triggered by Gnash’s bugs. If you run
Lumen Reclaimer instead of the stranger? Think about it. Alhed doesn’t trigger until after Supply Line’s buff is applied. One more word: Exalted.
The Twist?
We’re controlling the board, reducing the AI to single digit life totals, and then just growing and reshuffling our deck. over. and over. and over.... Or, until we get bored and end it with a monster Overwhelm unit.
There are a number of stupid Echo Market Juggling shenanigans to enjoy along the way as well. I can not emphasize this enough; this is not the most efficient gauntlet GRINDER out there. I don't grind gauntlet for gold. I goldfish the AI to grind time. Pardon the pun.
Variations!
Swap the stranger for
Ixtol, Champion of Grodov. This card is better in almost every way compared to stranger. No longer "the song." However, this is probably better for traditional grinding.
My challenge to you: deck the AI with patience.
You could also drop some of the legendary cards in the main deck for some more tool in another faction, but versus the AI I find more than one Sigil type to be too unreliable.
