I almost got the full 35 wins with this final version of Praxis Harvest event deck but am currently sitting at rank 5.
The deck is fairly straightforward, but I did refine the deck along the way to give it the punch it needed later in the event. It takes advantage of the high value midrange tools that Praxis has had for some time. I wanted to use a modified Stranger package because the
Strange Gladiator on turn 1 is what really boosts the power level. To make that even more consistent, I added 2
Traver's Farm to tutor out either Gladiator or Grodov early. But I still wanted to have the best time cards with Titan, Vanguard, and Behemoth.
Auralian Merchant is still a super powerful ramp merchant, and it gives me access to several late game value options with Burden, Heart of the Vault, and Kairos. That lets me steal from Control decks when the game feels like you're running out of time. Other than that, I prefer Varret to Magnificent Stranger, so that's why that tech to 2 copies is there. Occasionally, Varret will run away with the game by himself if your opponent doesn't have an early answer. Finally, I went down to 3 Jekk because although it is still a great finisher/draw engine, he is easily the hardest card to cast in the deck, so I didn't feel 4 was essential.
This event was surprisingly fun with the simple rule change, and I look forward to hearing what other power spikes made new decks playable. Skycrag Bolts anyone?
