Full Hand Luke
Trying to get the most out of Omniscience
I was surprised that
Omniscience didn't have @ItsTenz in a tizzy, so, with no master deck list in my inbox, I decided to try my own hand at crafting a deck with it. However, I don't have that great a knowledge of the cards, nor even access to all that many. Typically, I search through my Promo, Rare and Legendary cards and whittle down from whatever massive boulder of a build that nets me. Before fiddling enough with the deck to beat a gauntlet I decided the main issue came down to whether or not
Omniscience should be main decked or in the market. I'm still on the fence as there are plenty of discard effects where it would be a good choice early game. I will touch briefly on some of my card choices but honestly, would just prefer to put this out there and work with any feedback to improve it.
The basic premise of the deck is to empty your hand, while getting the power to play
Omniscience. Consider your opponents likelihood to use Hunt against you if using
Wilderness Delivery to fetch it.
(
Pteriax Mount is probably the card that causes me to triple guess it's use the most. I almost never play it without the Contract but ... deciding the target, or holding out... it almost makes me want to take it out sometimes! However, it's too good to remove (I think)...
Psionic Savant is a house once
Omniscience hits. Initially, I tried to use Primal with Time for +Maximum Power options and
Elysian Adept as a second
Psionic Savant but the mana balance was awful and 4 Savants is plenty when drawing so heavily into the deck anyway.
I'm not completely sold on the Market but
Invasive Species has helped many a game where I'm crapped out at 5 power or no market access.
Pelak, Xultan Elder is usually broken good after
Omniscience hits, both for the extra card (
Psionic Savant) but also that luscious +1/+3 inspire while drawing insane card numbers every turn!
Sundown Accord ->
Urge to Feed, which is a great card to toss early game for
Lethrai Marauder, barring Devour of course.
Eilyn, Hand of the Tempest is just a shiny card I had to fill out the Market. I did summon it once while stuck at 4 power and needing a body to stop some small pingers coming at me. So, she's not a complete wash but, definitely, the first Market card to replace!
Lastly - I'm not very familiar with Deck Archetypes per se, so I'm curious if I got it right? lmk!
More control-oriented, trying to take advantage of discarding cards. It's more my type of deck :)
