Nimble mumble ! Haaaa heeehehe ~ - Yetis
---------------------------------------
Skycrag aggro was my go-to aggro for laddering this season and frankly speaking, this is the most consistent traditional build that I'd played so far,
Ankle Cutter really puts on a lot of weight here. Deck performs best in a
known meta game environment.
Deck and card choices are not much difference from traditional aggro list, you typically want to curve out and keep blockers away and just keep punching to the face. However, one thing to note is your
secret weapon must be kept secret until after they showed you their trump blocking units, the legendary
Sandstorm Titan and
Vara, Vengeance-Seekeror to some extent,
Moonstone Vanguard.
Notice that the market is packed with questionable cards at first glance, but I made all the choices based on the meta game. So feel free to change them however you like depending on what decks you are facing the most. The market in this deck acts like your sideboard and tech cards to keep seemingly unwinnable matchups a jackpot!
1)
Factory Quota
Get this ASAP before opponent's Turn 4 with your Ixtun Merchant or
Howling Peak Smuggler if you cannot find Ankle Cutter for Reanimator matchup. Against Feln Control lists, get this ASAP too within 4 turns to turn off Vara's lifesteal and Black-Sky Harbringer's mass lifesteal ability. This will also force them to spend turns to commit units on board so your Ankle Cutter can work or Permafrost problematic ones to get ahead in tempo.
Against other hard control decks it's also definite solid choice to get as the damage dealt turn by turn can be devastating and will steal games away.
2)
Torrential Downpour
ScrappyHour and Praxis Tokens is a thing, and you know, it's really hard to play against Sandstorm into Moonstone curved decks. Not to mention mirror matches. Land this with your secret weapon and watch the Endurance units blow into ashes. Power efficient and keep things simple, then smash them with ya' Yetis and bois!
3)
Rockslide
Somewhat similar usage to Torrential Downpour and I always pair it with Ankle Cutter to remove blockers, can be useful as cheaper burn option for reach. Normally useful in mirror matches and for the Ankle Cutter combo. Sometimes you wouldn't know if they top deck into those Endurance / Lifesteal units again after your Downpour them.
4)
Kaleb's Choice
This is main tech card against Reanimators. Sometimes you just cannot rely on fast clock as their Turn 5 reanimation will kill you (We're not Rakano) or you just didn't commit wide enough to blow them out before they can wall you off. Also counters Harsh Rule / late Hailstorm, and kills that Martyr's Chain or any other annoying attachments. Useful card and versatile overall, fetchable by both merchant/smuggler is the appealing point I choose it over
Backlash, unless somehow I find Jennev Merchant better. (Maybe!)
5)
Obliterate
Nothing much to say about. Straighforward and badass spell. Get it with care, because at the point you could cast this big bad burn buddy is also the point you are losing gas and is in urgent need to close out the game.

Matchups
vs. Any Aggro Variants
Against Yeti Skycrag is the worst, your Torch is less useful and theirs is better against us. Just play as usual and hope your opponent gas out before you do. Rakano Aggro is fine as their curve is slightly higher than us, if they start to go wider it'll be a problem but we have Torrential Downpour and getting double Howling Peak Smuggler to stick on board is super important. In mirror match is 50/50, but you will see less of these kind of matchups. Nighmaul is great for us, fetch that Factory Quota first and get Torrential Downpour later, we can make use of the Nightfall triggers to help us draw more cards and develop board swiftly to keep the pressure and aggressor posture ALWAYS.
vs. Winchest Midrange
This is the matchup this deck likes to play against. Aegis is shutting off their Torches and Defiance and most decks now MIGHT skim on Torch thanks to the prevalence of other midrange / tokens / reanimator decks, we are leveraging on this. Vara is not too much of a problem as we have Ankle Cutter already, so does lifesteal units, but I prefer to show Ankle Cutter in front of Vara only. Alternatively, if opponent is trying to runaway with Turn 4 Vara on draw, you can also punish with
Chunk Chunk first to keep up pressure so they will
Harsh Rule to remove Vara for you. Otherwise, prolonged games are not good for us already. Games typically end on Turn 4 - Turn 6, super fast.
vs. Reanimator
When reanimator durdles, we win. When they don't, you have to see if you can get Kaleb's Choice on time. So I would normally leaned towards keeping a hand with at least a merchant/smuggler against any matchup, because reanimators matchup tend to be very swingy. Otherwise, we are generally favored because they normally durdle for set up. Go wide, go fast and go aggressively. Remember to always keep 2 power up with Kaleb's Choice once they have SS and 5 power!
vs. Jennev Midrange
This was the worst matchup before the Ankle Cutter buff and inclusion (because stopping only Endurance units wasn't enough, there's Windchest to worry about), there was nothing we can do except to "hope" they don't curve out with Sandstorm Titan or Moonstone Vanguard. But with Ankle Cutter now included, Sandstorm Titan becomes a one-for-one trade only. Again, Ankle Cutter is your secret weapon, keep it until you need it. Otherwise, game behaves similarly to the Windchest midrange matchup, with different key units to look out and play smartly with your removals on important units only.
---------------------------------------
Tips and Tricks
1) Don't be afraid to keep a no 1 cost unit hand. You want a sure win game plan with your starting hand than a perfect curved out ones. Eternal is slightly different than Magic for the case of aggro. Unit power and impacts are far more important that curving out.
2) Between choosing your Turn 2 drops, prioritize Dusk Rider over anything else. Nightfall triggers the earlier, the better, and even if we give them an extra draw, we try not to give them breathing space to utilize their power, and deck is hungry for gas anyway. Play Ornate Katana only in matchups where you guts is telling you to rush or you are digging for your techs. Otherwise play it on
Vadius, Clan Father for maximum value.
3) Be patient with Torch. It can be a 3 cost combo removal on any Endurance / Lifesteal unit with Ankle Cutter. Try not to use it too early on cheap units unless matchup approves to do so. Answer them with Rockslide or Torrential Downpour or just trade them off.

That is all for this lengthy write up!
Hope you will be able enjoy this deck as reach Masters like I did!
Enjoy the game and 'appy ETERNAL!
In fact, I just had a 11-1 run after making Masters. Deck is still strong!
