I was messing around with ideas and came up with this one, though after I made it and was deciding to tune the deck I found that others had the idea first.... bummer there.
So far this deck has brought me from Silver to Diamond. Will update if it does me any better.
Anyways after looking through these other decks I found a few key differences between mine and theirs, so the reasoning for all the common cards stays the same (basically berserk + rindra + quickshot = success). I want to make a shout out to Ilyak for helping me reel in the early game (I picked
Snowcrust Yeti,
Twilight Raptor, and
Annihilate from his deck, I definitely like how they play)
Here's my unique changes:
-
Daring Pioneer: I think this card has been undervalued for a long time. This card has really good stats and negates an enemy spell. Yes your opponent can do chump spells to get rid of it, but often the opponent will hold off on using their good spells for fear of negation (ie
Harsh Rule or
Channel the Tempest). Since this deck plays from the void a lot it is totally fine to let this happen and your pioneer to hit the void. My favorite combo/use for pioneer is either dark returning or screaming pioneer on a turn in which you plan to go all out. Even better if she has berserk then she will place a lot of pressure on the opponent and she will protect your units from a lot of removal allowing your attacks through. I really love this card in this deck.
Devastating Setback: this is a great card IMO with grow wide in the form of Skycraggro and Praxis Tokens still playing well. The card works well against control as well allowing you to pitch their relics or spells. Worst case scenario this gets pitched with
Jennev Merchant.
Nocturnal Observer: This card is great as it provides more nightfall, gives you a consistent draw engine, and allows you to pitch things to the void (which is great for haunting scream and is beautiful with Torgov though more on that shortly). This card really fits my goal here as I'll explain with the next card.
Torgov, Icecap Trader: This is my secondary win-con next to Rindra. Torgove also puts a lot of pressure on the opponent and you will often find your opponent having to choose between killing Rindra or Torgov in which case they usually pick Rindra. This lets you get a lot of additional draw in since this deck does not play any other draw other than Observer. The key here though is when you use Observer and Torgov to get 10+ cards in the void such that Torgov becomes a screamable 7/8 which is HUGE. He ends up being amazing with
Gift of Battle just like Rindra. Even better you get twice the draw when he has berserk.
Overall this deck is mad fun and is an amazing and unique approach to a Gift deck in my opinion. I hope you enjoy this deck and have fun brewing!
