The ShiftstonedEternal Power Calculator is a deck-building tool that visualizes your odds of drawing enough Influence and Power based specifically on the cards found in your deck.
Im tearing up the low diamond with this deck thats for sure. I think i might have lost 1 game out of 15 over all? Really liking the 10 merchant mana fix option, which just points to use needing the rest of the smuggler cycle so we can do this in more than just jennev colors, and potentially FJS.
The 10 merchants really give you something to roadblock aggro with . The only thing i find myself wishing for is moonstone vanguard, but there isn't anything you could cut for it sadly, and it hasnt been an issue, except for a game or two that went down to top deck mode, and found myself wishing for a bit more card draw.
So, after trying this out, I have to say, the 10 merchant mana fix approach, works, and works well. Auralian merchant's power boost is a nice touch, too.
I was skeptical, but this thing really hammers down the threats, and often doesn't miss with influence requirements (also, part of the reason I think it can still justify playing the two Xos it still plays).
The only thing I really miss is having the torrential downpour in the market. I suppose you could swap the M&N for one (it sure ain't gonna be those banners!), but it's really nice having a powerhouse card on the ready when you're not in the board position to be as aggressive as Xal Chi warrants. Still those times are not as often.
Another way to think about it is that his merchants can preventing having insufficient power/influence; and removing seek power(s) from his deck should slightly reduce the chance for draws with too much power (including seek power).
Also, with 10 merchants that can fetch both of those banners, he should worry a lot less about power/influence.
Lastly, he needs 4 Fire, 3, Time and 3 Primal influence, so getting two influence per banner does help.
