Second time that I'm trying to create a deck based on Hunter's Harpoon + Icespear Chucker. Tamarys made me want to try it again (the first version was fun but unplayable...). That second version actually looks OK, not great but OK. I'm currently gold 1 and I do 50% wins.
It's generally safe to play the Icespear and equip it during the next turn. Notice that you should equip only if you have got enough power to play some spells the same turn, to do some stuff before any removal.
Don't be afraid to use the harpoon on another unit. Really powerful with the berserk of Acquisitive Crow.
I tried Jotun a few months ago, before Hojan was released. It actually truly make sense to consider it again now.
Actually could also consider replacing "jennev marchant" with "howling peak smuggler" (great with snowball).
Instead is use cards like end of the barrel and kindle to keep going.
Have fun :-)
I tryed yours. It shows some more impressive moments but in globality, it's seems less effective when played in ranked (diamond 3). I think it comes from the fact that you do not play enough threats. When the Icespear is played, the opponent have got at least 1 removal in hand.
I have tried several modifications of your deck. At the end I was running that version : https://eternalwarcry.com/decks/details/GkRB2bD5sMY/icespear-combo-2-colors
I like the way your deck keeps control, but while i was playing, i was missing hailstorm, but ok, i got paired against lots of aggro :-)
Keep up the good work and keep this updated!
About the crunch, a small trick that people generally don't use : If the opponent has got 2 3/3 and you have got a torch or any other fast removal, you can attach with the crunch and use the removal during the attack. In most of cases the opponent will block only with 1 3/3. The overwhelm will so give you the damages and the infiltrate.
Good continuation ;)
