Here's a
Wurm Bait list I've been working on for some time.
It's a Praxis token list that foregoes straight aggression to stall the board and finish off the opponent with big wurms. We generate card advantage by stalling the board with tiny blockers, drawing extra cards with
Vault of the Praxis, and winning with a couple swings of these giant wurms. The deck can have some aggro-type hands usually needing to grab
Xenan Obelisk with our smuggler to beat slower decks. Once the blockers start coming down you can pivot to the deck's main focus.
The wurms come in shifted so we need to wait before we can start slamming with them. Note that the attack and health of the wurms is dynamic: the more units in the void, the larger the wurm. Depending on the enemy health, it may be a good idea to throw away extra units into their attackers to get the wurms to a size where they can kill in a couple of swings.
I've tried to include many cards that play at least two units at once to maximize drawing with
Vault of the Praxis. Crinva, the Crimsom Scythe is our top end for repeatable advantage.
Amaran Stinger helps to provide deadly blockers and extra bodies. Same for
Auralian Infestation, it can provide multiple deadly blockers to slow down aggro and midrange threats. Lastly, if you play a unit you can use it to make a wurm with
Wurm Bait it will trigger Vault too.
As for the market, I've included
Sandstorm Scarf to bring the flyers down to our level and
Xenan Obelisk to make the team attack and block better.
Bore is your classic anti-relic tool, and
Jawbone Greatsword is for removal and pressuring the opponent on empty boards. It's not too hard to get it's tribute effect either.
Gnash, Desert Prince is the perfect top end threat/anti-flyer/token maker for this deck too.
If you have any suggestions for cards to try or improvements that can be made, feel free to comment!
