Been on a break for 9 months, but it seems much has happened for mill decks since I left. Two-Face and and Silverblade Menace are essential to our strategy and this allows us to ditch some more situational cards in their favor. Meanwhile Eremot's Designs and Battle at the Gates should return some much needed removal flexibility that we lost with the Desecrate nerf. As before, we are looking for card advantage with Heartstopper, but mainly aim for obscene face damage through Black Iron Manacles, and a backup plan of full mill.

Combos and card choices:
Dreamsnatcher + Mournful Deathcap or Malaise. Malaise works as a combat trick ideally going face.
Black Iron Manacles + Mournful Deathcap or Malaise. This quickly becomes very bad for your opponent's health. Take advantage of fast spell mechanics: you can often decide between Malaise and Annihilate at the end of your opponent's turn, but beware of relic hate.
Heartstopper + Mournful Deathcap or Malaise. Not the most powerful combination, but it does win us some games and it provokes removal.
Memory Dredger with Dreamsnatcher or Mournful Deathcap in the void. This rarely succeeds - too many variables - but occasionally it's powerful and it keeps your opponent busy.
Late game Solitude with or without Black Iron Manacles. Everything in your opponent's void makes this card more powerful. Mill your opponent to zero health or zero cards. Evil. Just don't draw Solitudes in your opening hand.

Evenhanded Golem: Self explanatory. Drawing them wins you games. Not drawing them loses you games.
Quarry: provides much needed flexibility by giving you odd cost cards.
Vara, Vengeance-Seeker: Stealing health and countering Aegis are central to your gameplan. Learn to use her well.
Save Cremate for sites and anything you don't want back from the void.

Nope, sorry. Can you describe what's wearing you down? I'm sure you've seen this Feln deck, objectively it's currently stronger almost due to the value of Essence Feast alone.

I feel like I'm not reliably milling. When it works it euros big but it seems a turn to seed on a deathcap and I'm dead in the water.

I have your feln version too. I wanted to try this because I've played loads of feln like most others. Would this play well as feln with the fire splash for black iron?

Splash is certainly worth trying. I'm not overly comfortable with tricolor decks, but that's just me. I will give it some thought, hope you beat me to it. What are your feelings on Dr. Zytrom and Battle at the Gates? They're a bit tricky, BG is expensive and I'm starting to dislike it. I'm tempted to nudge Malaise back in, but it's (almost) a do nothing without the other combo pieces.

BG has been tough to pull off. It would be great if it worked on units played last turn. I moved out all 4 for doctor and it seems to help a little but still feels off. Sadly I think I'd rather have 4x deathstrike.

I'm going to see if 2x Dr. Zappy and 2x Last Chance is more flexible. Removal access has been the Achilles' heel of this deck for a long time.

I wish malaise milled more. I mean for 1 less mill you can use the spore guy and you get a dummy blocker and potentially more mill with tome.

I'm playing with the tri deck. Here's the even one I have. I'm trying to make a non-even so I can have turn to seed got the needed removal. Maybe consider the 4 cost market guy for your deck. I think it helps to market solitude and silverblade menace. Consider even marketing Vara because she's kind of useless unless they aegis and if they aegis, 4x in your top 20 might be very useful.

This deck could market doctor or null blade.

No Last Chance to grab one of your 4 drops back from the grave, or even a piercing grief for the extra draw and free creature? I found it helps with consistency.

I'm not getting enough impact from Malediction. The stats of too many creatures are just too high. Ramba in particular is a pain. Perhaps Last Chance will find a place in that slot. What did you take out?

I never had the maledictions to begin with. Although that's because I was building according to what I versed. And it ended up being where it wouldn't have enough impact on the game to warrant being in the deck since most creatures were too big for it, unless I somehow managed to damage them first.

i've always loved mill decks and i hit masters with your list. it might just be my pocket meta but this deck feels really good right now - very little relic hate and face aegis. i thought the desecrate nerf would ruin my winrate but i just won 5 in a row with the revisions. thanks for sharing!

Could try -2 Quarry, +2 Malediction, +4 Piercing Grief. Praxis got nerfs as well, so it might not be that bad. Will post once I've done some testing.

The deck seems really cool, sadly can't afford to craft the other 3 heartstoppers atm, but would definitley play this!
Also kudos on the writeup of the deck strat. It's something i wish i saw on more decks, and you gave a very detailed one.

Thank you! Heartstoppers aren't essential if you want to test the deck and get a feel for the gameplan. I ran 4x Piercing Griefs in my first list. It makes the deck even more hit or miss: you win more games as the aggressor, usually against control, and lose more games on defense, usually against aggro. If you run them be careful not to odd cost them (Quarry) before they go back in to your deck or your Golems will take offense.
