As we all know, there are a few extremely broken cards that have warped both expedition and throne. Half to prove a point and half for the memes I decided to jam every broken new card (helio exempt) into one deck and see how it did, and now I can present: Winchest Broken Cards
The Best:
It starts, of course, with the two desperately nerf needing cards,
Silverblade Intrusion and
Friends in Low Places. If you haven't heard already these cards are stupid. I probably don't need to explain why they are broken but just know that your goal when manaing influence is to activate these cards so keep that in mind when playing power.
So how do we activate the broken ones, with the best fixer in the game,
Ironthorn, Lawman. Doubling influence to get absurd turn 3 intrusions and turn 4 FiLP and also plundering makes this card an easy include.
To round off the broken rakano cards is, of course,
Ijin, Walking Armory. Haha just kidding this card isn't broken anymore, they nerfed it so it's totally fair now, right? Definitely can't still pair this with intrusion for a 1 mana 7/7 flier that would just be silly.
What's the one deck that isn't rakano that also have some meta defining broken cards - Argenport
Not only is
Rolant, Iron Tyrant the best 4 drop in the game to get off of FiLP, but it also works very well with ijin, so you get that sweet mithril value basically every turn cycle. Even on his own Roly Poly is nuts, and if he sticks on the board for more than one or two turns, can just run over a game. Rolant is especially good against rakano I've found they have a real tought time dealing with even just a few
Silverblade Reaper
The final broken card, the strongest relic weapon in the game,
Backbreaker. With the many ways to rack up justice influence, this thing gets thicc. Backbreaker just applies a lot of pressure that many decks can't answer. At only 5 mana, backbreaker on curve removes pretty much anything they have played so far, and makes it hard for them to play their best cards staring down a 6 attack relic.
The Rest:
Now that we've met all the broken cards, lets look at the meat and potatoes that binds them together.
Justice Etchings and
Wasteland Broker are ways to access our market:
Just Desserts - a catchall removal card if I'm in a pickle. I usually have
From Anguish
in this slot for my justice decks but I don't want it transforming on me I just want removal.
Master's Blade Removal that also lets you invoke and fits nicely on Roly.
Wind Conjuring This card is a flexible combat trick both defensively and offensively, and gets you a card off decimate. If I've used Svetya already I don't mind brokering this into my deck at all.
Marley, Heroic Marshal The deck doesn't have 4 fire influence consistently enough early game to put marley in the main, but she's a great tech card for either the silence or the relic removal that can also get through a board stall and start closing out the game.
Svetya, Lightbringer The market staple, very powerful to shuffle in the deck with wasteland broker if you are at or getting to 6 power. You haven't lived until you've chained Svetyas and given your opponent an aneurysm. Go to game finisher.
Trickshot Ruffian Maybe this card should also go with the broken cards, but I'm not super upset at it. It only really becomes a problem when you instant speed get it off FiLP and surprise lethal your opponent. It's good aggressive pressure and a good way to close out games or break through icky boards.
Kodosh Evangel,
Petition, and
Unfamiliar Interloper are the fixing so you can cast all your broken cards and they will do the broken things. Cylixes have really made petition the go to fixing for pretty much every deck I make now.
Sear This is a flex spot that honestly is probably better filled by
Defiance but I like the extra damage to go face sometimes.
TL;DR Somebody needs to do something about these broken cards and hopefully the solution is not to just print more broken cards
