A deck built largely around the 3x
Kyojun, Grand Shugo I have. Consider it a brewer's challenge.
The funny thing is how well it works, and how the synergies actually aren't awful.
Case in point:
Unseen Commando has a lot more going for it than you'd first assume.
--three weapons that we're using (
Elder's Feather,
Shogun's Scepter, and
Deepforged Plate) add battle skills, and most of our units already have at least one.
--Kyojun himself naturally has Warcry 2.
Kyojun also ends up buffing a TON of dudes, if you can keep him in play. There are 24 Oni in this deck (+4 that come along with the
Shogun's Scepter). The best is when you can stack two of him, but then that's truly "Win More."
The real success, though, is in pairing
Hellfire Oni with
Deepforged Plate. 5 power = +10/+10, endurance, overwhelm. Hard to stop. Usually ends the game immediately.
If that's not enough, we're running
Jekk, Hunted Fugitive to give our opponents one more enormous threat to deal with or lose.
Keep in mind that this is a Dude + Weapon aggro deck. There's a reason we're running 15 attachments with
Oni Quartermaster. Add to that the possibility of
Ijin, Imperial Armorer activations, and you can see how nuts (read: fun) it can be.
Flex spots:
1x
Sword of Icaria -- thinking of it as early-game removal. Kill things to clear the way for your Oni.
1x
Hammer of Might -- another big weapon, but I'm not sure if it would be better as the 4th Plate. Maybe.
3x Jekk -- because maybe the third copy is asking too much. That's 6 5-drops in a deck that's trying to win pretty fast, but is averaging out at 3 on-curve. Hard to say if that's right.
It's still too new in my testing cycle to say the deck is good, but it has a lot going for it.
And, as mentioned above, it's reallllllllly fun. :)
