Information

RIP Praxis Displacer. Still a very strong deck.

Budget alternatives: Spark Hatcher for Teacher of Humility, Predatory Carnosaur or Obliterate for Heart of the Vault.

Tips:
Look for a functional hand with obelisk or a fast hand with multiple plays by turn 3.

It is ok to lose some units on an attack, but only if you have a plan to finish the game. Either set up a 2 turn kill or put them into burn range. If you can't do that then it is usually better to go wider and wait for Xenan Obelisk.

If you think your opponent plays sweepers then don't commit more to the board than you need to win. Sometimes your best chance to win will be to hope they don't have a sweeper (or a 2nd one), they are only about 50% to have the first one and 12% to have the 2nd assuming they play 4 copies and have seen about 12 cards.

Remember to play your power and Initiate of the Sands/Auralian Merchant before attacks when you have Xenan Obelisk and can get 8 power. Also remember to play Temple Scribe or Heart of the Vault before attacks if they could draw something relevant and you would play them that turn anyway.

Melfice Eternal Version: 1.37.4
I will be crafting this deck, and giving it a try! I hope it performs well for me on the ladder :)
delverino Edited Eternal Version: 1.37
Fantastic deck. Got back from the summer not knowing what to play and this deck carried me from silver 3 all the way to masters. Whenever I would brew something else I would stall, then I would return to this deck and gain another couple ranks. 16-4 with it over the last 20 games. Tips were also helpful as I started by substituting the teachers for spark hatchers and upgraded when I had the chance. Also I replaced the cinder yeti with a talir's favored and it worked pretty well.
Thank you

Insane deck. Pilot it well and you wreck. 16-1 so far with it, beats all kinds of different decks. Very well done man, first deck i've invested in, and incredibly happy i chose to spend my shiftstone on this!
Aetherllama Eternal Version: 1.37
Glad its working so well for you.

I'm still debating between this list and the Ixtun one (https://eternalwarcry.com/decks/details/gQMeMxrN3eU/death-by-1000-cuts). Having access to Rally, Jawbone and Flamestoker seems amazing even if you trade picking up a reliable Obelisk. Fire offers you Cloud of Ash, Bore, Obliterate, Shugo Standard while Time is Carnosaur and Obelisk plus some filler. I'm tending towards Ixtun but this does look good.
Boukish Edited Eternal Version: 1.37
Auralian is more than just a time merchant, it's +1 max power.
Prometheus Eternal Version: 1.37
Ixtun is more than just a fire merchant, it has overwhelm to synergise with Obelisk and Rally.
Boukish Edited Eternal Version: 1.37
The deck goes wide, not tall, is the issue. Breaking over for 2 damage of overwhelm is not really comparable to hitting critical mass of +power for obelisk, other highly costed things, or dumping your hand quickly in sequence for the 2 turn kill.
Prometheus Eternal Version: 1.37
Yet the number 1 tokens player on the competitive scene still opts for Ixtun. The point was your oversimplification of the question...
Aetherllama Eternal Version: 1.37
The last tokens list that got top 8 in an ETS was very similar to this list, but I honestly don't know what the optimal version looks like. I can see many good variations, most of which haven't really been explored.
Prometheus Edited Eternal Version: 1.37
Yeah, I had a look at that too. I think Auralian is actually the way to go despite how low to the ground and powerful Rally is. 6 Power means you drop Ixtun and can rally same turn if needed. Nevertheles the +1 power actually allows for plays even in poor draw space. I've been working on both variants and at the moment I favour Auralia.
Henne3001 Eternal Version: 1.36
Comment your decks makes sence to me. On the one hand you turn 1 drop for the early game cards like teacher, cinder yeti and jawbone that are very aggressive to push damage and on the other hand you have lategame cards like heart that force you to play undepleted power. And seek power with a 27 power deck, what's a little low to support 6 drops. And in your market are very expensive cards that can't turn a lost game arround. Especially sandstorm titan. I think the deck would be why more consistent when you concentrate on going wide and try to alpha strike the opponent every turn.
Aetherllama Eternal Version: 1.36
Its 35 power if you include initiate and merchant, so playing hotv is very realistic. This deck is also capable of winning long games. If you want to be more aggressive, I suggest you play rally and the red merchant.
LCairnes Eternal Version: 1.36
any substitute for jawbone greatsword?
Aetherllama Eternal Version: 1.36
Obliterate, which might even be better than jawbone.
LCairnes Eternal Version: 1.36
Thanks!
crnlious Eternal Version: 1.31.6
Due to shortage on my card pool, I tried two Chakram instead of one Heart of the Vault and Xenan.. Chakram works well also. thanks for the deck.. Its fun
Mechavelli Edited Eternal Version: 1.31.6
Love this deck. First game I played with it, I got Harsh Ruled twice, but it didn't even matter. After the first time, I summoned two HotV and dealt a ton of damage. After the second one, I summoned a Drone with two Obelisks at 8 power, and closed out the game with a Torch and a Rally.

Question, why no Vault of the Praxis? The card draw could help out a lot, I think.
Aetherllama Edited Eternal Version: 1.31.6
Glad you're enjoying it. Understanding when to try to win quickly and when to play for a long game is one of the more important skills to playing this deck well.

There are many adjustments you can make to optimize for certain metas. Vault is good against control and I was playing it while I was running into control fairly often. The current configuration is leaning toward the tempo/burst/burn plan as opposed to the grind plan. I listed some of the flex cards in the description that I advise tweaking the numbers on if you want to improve certain matchups.
Wok Edited Eternal Version: 1.31
It looks solid in tournament too: Fish Tokens got the first place with Arcanum Monitors, and fewer Praxis Displacers.
therooster Eternal Version: 1.31
If anyone's interested, I've dropped the Alluring Embers and added 1 Obliterate, 2 Cinder Yeti, and 1 Talir's Choice and I've been happy with the changes.
Mechavelli Eternal Version: 1.31.6
How many times have you used Talir's Choice? It seems like an interesting choice.
therooster Eternal Version: 1.31.6
Almost always on offense to win, but occasionally I have 2-3 obelisks and a rally in hand so have 2 bodies is better.
BarefootFarmer Eternal Version: 1.31
Thanks for sharing the deck. Been using this to stay top 100. Just switched the vault (because it's a bad topdeck) with 3rd obliterate and it's running smoothly.
Aetherllama Eternal Version: 1.31
Glad its doing well for you. Vault is either your best or worst card depending on the matchup, obliterate is always solid.
ZekeP Eternal Version: 1.31
Great Deck. I think we will see a change in the Meta soon to prevent this deck to win.
I have already played a match against a JTP control were they played one lightning storm, two Hailstorm and one Harsh Rule
Superflix Eternal Version: 1.31
I played something similar a long time ago. Finished them off with shogun of the wastes what do you think of him?
Aetherllama Edited Eternal Version: 1.31
I think Shogun of the Wastes is pretty good in tokens, I would max out on Cinder Yeti and Praxis Displacer to take advantage of it.
Superflix Eternal Version: 1.31
Did not think of bouncing it myself. Cool idea! :D
frmorrison Edited Eternal Version: 1.31
What about using the promo unit that gives 1/1 to all minions instead of legendary?
I don’t have any of those hearts.
Aetherllama Edited Eternal Version: 1.31
I don't like Arcanum Monitor because it effectively dies to silence and is bad against removal. I think additional copies of Obliterate and Praxis Displacer are better. Other options are Predatory Carnosaur and Shatterglass Mage.
Goliath Edited Eternal Version: 1.31
And Wandering Wisp if want someone will be a good replace, although the deck as i tried it ,is solid enough and dont need changes.
MindbreakTrap Eternal Version: 1.31
no love for venom rider? ;-;

great deck tho
Aetherllama Eternal Version: 1.31
My impression of venom rider is that it's only good against time midrange, so maybe I would put it in the sideboard if this was a tournament deck.
BadBug Eternal Version: 1.31
Can you share any tips/strategies for this deck plz ? :)
Aetherllama Eternal Version: 1.31
I added some tips. Hopefully they help, this deck is relatively straightforward.
