No, it does not. I played with a few variations on the deck, and also tried Pteriax Hatchling in that slot. I found that I really wanted to play Lightning Storm in the even, which I did not like in combination with the hatchling. Even though it does not combo with Crown, it does work well with Nesting Avisaur, Twinning Ritual and Dark return. I stole games by just attacking with three of them, and if you managed to make it cost 0, you can continue putting on pressure like this while still developing the board.
