Inspired by https://eternalwarcry.com/decks/details/OGum9B9oL4g/hand-destruction-dark-chalice, this deck uses two of the main reasons to go into shadow as chalice:
Vara's Choice and
Colony Matron.
Vara's Choice is an amazing silence and tempo spell that can allow you to stabilize in the mid game, and from there on, if you stick a
Colony Matron with a
Crystalline Chalice on board you most likely have already won the game.
Vara's Choice can also act as hand destruction, sometimes giving easy wins versus combo decks. Using it or
Rain of Frogs after a merchant is usually very strong. If your opponent has face aegis,
Derry Cathain, Ripclaw Rider is your main way of dealing with it, so save that card until you want to use your hand destruction spells.
The deck has several removal options that can be mixed and matched depending on matchup:
Permafrost,
Annihilate,
Equivocate and
In Cold Blood are some of the best ones, apart from the already mentioned
Vara's Choice.
The market is mostly filled with tech cards:
Sandstorm Scarf is necessary vs Hooru Fliers and TJP Alessi, allowing you to use your non-flying units to chump. It's also a counter to
Icaria, the Liberator.
Infinite Hourglass is very strong versus aggressive decks, allowing you to start chaliceing your minions much earlier in the game than you otherwise could. It also destroys anyone running permafrost, or other exhaust or stun cards.
Disjunction Is necessary versus
Azindel's Gift, but can also allow for blowouts versus
Xenan Obelisk and
Bloodrite Kalis decks.
Equivocate gives the deck additional fast speed removal when you need it, and
Crystalline Chalice should just always be available.
The power base maximizes crests to give the deck a lot more consistency. It also fits in 4x
Cobalt Waystone for face aegis which is really useful in some games.
