Now you probably saw this and went "Praxis? Soldiers? Really?" because I know I certainly would have. But here's the thing: this deck has been surprisingly effective for me, building boards so wide and aggressive that it can be hard to stop at times, even with all the fatties and removal floating about. But why now? Well, this deck got some really powerful tools with the release of the new expansion, namely
Logistics Expert,
Midchief Salus and
Inferno Den, which provide a level of consistency that allow for some really swingy plays.
Inferno Den in particular is an all star card in this deck. It's hard to kill at 4 health, It can usually remove something with
Conflagrate to protect itself then push for 6 damage the next turn with
Inferno Dance. If you combine this with
Bastion Garrison this then becomes 12 damage for 5. Coupled with other amplify effects like
Send for the Reserves you can generate massive boards with charge in a single turn.
Ramp is very important in this deck. Having both
Logistics Expert and
Initiate of the Sands in our deck increases our chance of ramping turn 1 and enabling plays like turn 2
Auralian Supplier or even turn 3
Inferno Den (which almost always just wins you the game). Always try and mull for one of these.
Midchief Salus has gone a bit under the radar in this expansion imo. Not only is it a good base (2/3/2 with quickdraw), but the amplify effect can shine in this deck too. Because we go so wide, it isnt uncomon to warcry something 6 or 7 times in a turn, and remember
Song of War can stack on itself when you amplify, creating boards of Warcry 2 or even Warcry 3 minions.
Market is pretty straightforward:
Onoris Roa has saved my ass more times than i can count when I play it turn 3 or 4 to prevent a hailstorm. This deck could really do with some better removal/disruption but unfortunately praxis is the worst faction combo for this. For this reason you do really have to be as aggressive as possible. Do not be afraid to sacrifice a unit or two to push more damage, especially when your capacity to refill your board is good.(That being said if your opponent ever plays rolant just quit lol its already a lost cause) I hope some people try this and see how it works! I loved the old praxis tokens and this reminds me a lot of that. I think there is scope for refinement so if you have any thoughts for improvement then let me know.
