Making gunslinger decks always made me happy, but we have some really cool additions which can even make them viable in the Defiance meta. Currently, i'm hanging around Gold 1 (didn't really bother with win rates since i'm still tweaking stuff), but consider it a jank deck if you like.
The deck has some great synergies and it's a bit slower than your typical Rakano aggro, but can quickly tear the opponent down if not handled quickly or stand its ground if the game is prolonged.
Card selection
Torch is staple, as usual.
Seek Power for fixing and thinning.
Longbarrel is a fine activator for
Hojan, Crownbreaker and
Notorious Scoundrel but i especially love playing it on
Quicktrigger Outlaw with Spellcraft.
Steady Marshal and
First-Shot Rioter
If you have two of
Steady Marshal in your starting hand, you already have a formidable board on turn two. Later in the game, when you drop the
Oni Quartermaster, all of these fellas are great drawing engines.
Bulletshaper has already proven itself in Rakano Midrange during last meta, it's great for ramping with Privilege Of Rank, thinning the deck and it's also a Gunslinger!
Champion of Glory is a powerhouse (besides also being a Gunslinger), great for buffing and removing enemy units with it since your removals are limited in this build.
Hojan, Crownbreaker is a diamond of the set, enough to win you the game on it's own against slow decks, or at least pump you up against faster decks until you establish the board. My favourite combo is having him along with Telut, Queen's Hand Quartermaster on board.
Notorious Scoundrel is a high stake card, but having 6/3 on turn three is something that will usually win you games on the spot. Later on, playing a weapon on him, and playing another weapon creates a monster and draws a lot of cards if you have
Oni Quartermaster on the board.
Ornate Katana is a cheap card draw/buff/renown enabler.
Highland Sharpshooter - Aggressive gunslinger with a powerful renown effect.
Vanquish is a staple, not much to say here.
Finest Hour is also a staple, also a renow activator.
Granite Acolyte is quite a simple fella, and some might say he is subpar, but a two attack weapon is nothing to scoff at considering it's casted by a 2/1 2 mana unit. The thing is, you need a lot of weapons to play the deck properly, and not enough space in the deck to provide them, thus the Granite Acolyte.
Oni Quartermaster is the card i adore. Often oversighted when choosing a removal target, once you drop him on board with
Shingane Forge the show begins. If you're having Grenadins from
Granite Waystone you can easily draw multiple cards and buff multiple units in a turn.
Red Canyon Smuggler - The core of the deck couldn't support having both
Ixtun Merchant and
Winchest Merchant so this one came right on time. Of course, the downside is not being able to have the market cards in the deck. Even if you don't want to draw the cards from the market, 2/3 double damage unit with lots of weapons at disposal usually wrecks havoc.
I haven't tried
Ijin's Workshop, i don't know if it would fit. I tried a lot of other cards,
Oni Forgemaster was hard to activate consistently,
Hellfire Oni was also hard to activate and it's quite expensive,
Kemmo, Ijin's Apprentice was also quite useless since you'd rarely draw the blade.
I'm open to suggestions on how to improve the deck!
