Information

Returned to Eternal after a few years absence and decided to update my old Gauntlet deck after a couple of less successful attempts with other decks. My experience with the Gauntlet is that the key to a good deck is consistency and the ability to quickly ramp up and be the aggressive player from almost any situation.

With this current version I did not lose a single game on the two lasts levels.

You sure did pull this from a dusty corner. Initiate of the Sands and Trail Maker have seen better versions enter play. Logistics Expert and Open Way Supplier have a lot more upside to them. Once you get some shiftstone built up there are great gauntlet cards in Praxis. Ramba, Arena Showman is one of my personal favorites.

Good Luck and welcome back!

Thank you! It is kind of cool to see how much the game has evolved. I was especially glad to discover that there now is a "standard" format with expedition.

And thank you for the feedback! I did actually try both with Logistics Expert and Open Way Supplier in the deck. However I felt like they were less consistent than their counterparts. Every time I had power over to play an amplified Logistics Expert I was already winning. Hence it's functional value to the deck was less than Initiate of the Sands. Same goes for Open Way Supplier. The deck seldom needs to kill specific targets. Torch and Purify usually does the trick. Getting that body and the extra influence in the early game, sometimes is enough to not have to restart the Gauntlet because of a bad draw.

I have considered Ramba, Arena Showman and a couple of other praxis cards but many lack early game and/or evasion.
With that said I might just be a bit nostalgic and maybe also reluctant to spend shiftstone on Guantlet-decks :D

I currently think Crimson Firemaw is the worst card in the deck. I am considering trying out Onoris Roa on that spot.
