Information

This is the first deck I've ever built that I thought was halfway decent. Any constructive criticism or suggestions on how to improve it would be incredibly welcome.

The combo in this deck is inspired by a puzzle solution and is a beautiful sight to behold when it kicks off. It's based around the fact that the game counts Argenport Instigator's damage as an infiltrate trigger. The point of the deck is to pair AI with Cabal Spymaster and at least one attachment then trigger infinite infiltrates. Debtor's Shackles will clear an opponent's whole board in one turn while Beastcaller's Amulet pumps out 5/5 threats like an assembly line. All four together is enough to bring a tear to your eye.

In the background this deck has plenty of removal to keep you alive while you're building the combo and as a trigger. Vara provides a bit of lifesteal and keeps the board clear of aegis so the combo can do max damage. She can even be a trigger against an unwitting opponent. Backlash protects your units while you're building and Dark Return brings back anything you couldn't protect. Direfang Spider stabilizes the early board. Yeti Spy and Gorgon Fanatic mostly serve as warm bodies and torchbait but they can occasionally get through for some card draw.

There are still ways to win even if the combo doesn't go off perfect. Dark Returning Vara into a serious beast is a classic move, the Amulet is cheap enough to throw on your one drops to get a threat on the board pretty early, and there's enough removal in the deck to keep you on top even when your card draws aren't ideal.

In play testing the deck did pretty good against AI, even completing a few Master gauntlets, and fairly well in Casual PVP. I hope to keep improving it. It's very budget friendly for now, but I'd like to test some other campaign cards in it after I do some grinding. Grenehen comes to mind.

That's what I've got. Thanks for checking it out and please do let me know if you have any suggestions on how to improve this brew.

EDIT 3/30: Replaced Yeti Spy with Rage Grafter to add a market. Aerial Battle is lifesaver as this deck is weak to flyers. Changed deck type to Gauntlet because I kept getting creamed in PVP play testing. It might still do well in the lower levels of ladder, but it's doing great against AI. I'd still like to make some improvements. Maybe switch out Icicle Marksman in the market with some more card draw.

I love the idea behind this deck! The main thing that would improve it would be adding a market to make the deck more flexible. Rage Grafter is a pretty cheap way to do that. As for cards that could go into the market, Icicle Marksman wouldn't be bad, as it can also trigger infiltrate the same way that Instigator can. Permafrost and Disrupt would also be great inclusions there, and that'd leave two slots open for whatever cards you want to test as you develop the deck. Good luck, and thanks for sharing!

Edit: Haunting Scream is a great combo with both Gorgon Fanatic and Vara, Vengeance-Seeker, so it might be worth adding somewhere as well

Thanks drafimara! I figured it needed a market, but I haven't put one together yet. I will definitely try your suggestions out and keep this deck updated.
