i was baffled by this as well but i think it's meant to be a poor alternative to a 5th Torch, like something you could merchant for and play in the same turn with a Vicious Highwayman on the board or something.

Has it been acceptable? Or can it be changed for something more spicy? I was kinda thinking of a Smuggler's Stash as a way to grind longer games... Or maybe even a maiden to fight graveyard shenanigans

This looks really good to me, taking some of the strength of haunted highway and adding Vadius + Hideout Pistol as consistently good cards instead of things like madness / combust / scream, and playing a lot more undepleted power.
