Ideal start is
Akko, Inspired Artist ->
Gold-Plated Revolver turn 2, turning him into a 4/4 -> he hits opponent for 4, becomes a 5/6 -> he hits mastery 9 on turn 3 -> you play
Jishu, the Burning Brush to topdeck a buffed
Steelfang Glaive next turn, then win quickly in dominant fashion, provoking your opponent to /friend you to call you names or ask for your decklist. What a great feeling either way!
But any start with 2-3 power,
Oni Samurai and/or
Oni Ronin and another unit or two will work. Keep an eye on power, you'll need 2 each red and green influence, and any power past 4 is generally a waste, hence the inclusion of
Emblem of Kodosh and
Emblem of Shavka. Unfortunately the units they grant are not Oni and don't receive any buff from
Forgemark Scrivener,
Acclaimed Artisan, or
Kyojun, Grand Shugo, but it's still a slight answer to flooding.
Forgemark Scrivener is the unsung hero of the deck, I can't believe this card is common, it should be legendary. Opponents often underestimate it and waste removal on other units.
Jishu, the Burning Brush can pull any weapon from the deck, and
Hanaka, Loremaster any relic weapon (including versatile), depending on your needs. This helps keep the cost of market cards low - again, any power past 5-6 max is usually a loss, so high cost market cards are a bust.
Keep in mind that using
Camrin's Sniper Rifle counts for mastery and takes the place of more copies of
Torch, or any copies of
Ignite.
While they're not included, you may want to try out
Oni Inciter,
Markmaker, or
Finest Hour. Finest Hour would be especially nice to have, but there's no room for it and I feel this deck is better as is. YMMV.
