The ShiftstonedEternal Power Calculator is a deck-building tool that visualizes your odds of drawing enough Influence and Power based specifically on the cards found in your deck.
This deck might be the worst ladder deck I've ever played. I could break down the numerous reasons why but through 30 games the deck has gone a combined total of 14 - 16.
The only time it seems to win is against feln control.
Let's start with the absolute horrid influence base. You need to cast 1 drops in red, double red on turn 2, and triple red turn 5. Even combrei without a banner wasn't this bad at hitting the right influence colors. multiple games i was stuck without double red after a re-draw and it was game over every time. The fact that a 2 color aggro deck can stumble in almost 10% of its games on mana is just awful.
That's not even the worst part about this deck, do you know what card never did anything for me ? Miner's musket, do you know what card destroyed MY board multiple times but only did 1 thing in 30 games ? Alpine Tracker. Sure it would be nice to have hit it against the 2 grenadine drone decks, but it never showed up for those matches and everything else it was miserable against, casting it meant more things of mine would die than the opponent. The influence cost on the card also is a huge hinderance for this deck; double red, double blue ? What god hand are you getting that gets this out on time all the time, and its not destroying what you've set up the first 3 turns ?
Another card that never did ANYTHING in this deck, soulfire drake, i think i got to hit my opponent with it once, every other time it rotted in my hand because hitting 3 red influence is almost impossible. I'm not going to say the deck is terrible but if your going to be the bad guy at least do it with a winning deck. The fact that 2 separate times it went 7 - 8 should tell you all you need to know about the deck.
It's average, it wont bring you to masters, you have to get incredibly lucky with this to ride the wave all the way to the "top" of masters. If this deck got you there then good for you, you hit a hot streak and didn't face any sandstorm titans, probably hit a pocket of other aggro decks where rockslide and vladius are extremly good, and got lucky. Streaks happen in this game.
If you want to climb ladder go with the old skycrag deck, it has much the same advantages as this but doesn't have nearly the mana issues and doesn't have cards that actively hurt your gameplan. As far as "maintaining top 10 rank with this" the only answer i could fathom-ably come up with is that you are constantly getting feln control matches, in which case this deck is great, as long as their blood sky harbinger doesn't stick.
I'm not trying to be "that" guy and hate on your deck, but for anyone looking to spend their shiftstone elsewhere there are plenty of decks that will probably win at a higher rate, and not leave you shiftstone poor.
Honestly I played this deck to master with some little changes (I made a post in the website with some comments if you want to see that since I don't want to write everything again, it's called "Skycrag Aggro").
I had some power issues but not as severe as you state.
Sandstorm titan is a beating and probably the best card against this deck but it's not unbeatable.
Alpine Tracker is just a terrible card to include in a deck which relies on so many 1 health minions. No, it's just NOT worth it for extra burst or as a tech against Grenadins. For burst, you run Oblits or Drakes. For Grenadins you use Rockslide and Overwhelm minions; Cinder Yeti belongs in the slot where you're running Alpine Tracker.
The blunt truth is that people hit Masters with subpar lists all the time. Just because you hit masters with this list, that doesn't make Alpine Tracker a good card to run in Skycraggro. More blunt truth: you probably hit Masters in spiteof running Tracker, because of the strength of the other cards in the deck.
I have played skycrag to top 100 masters a couple times. Add 4 fearless yeti, 2 shogunns septer, get rid of 3 furnace mage, and 3 alpine tracker. Also minners musket is questionable. Also 4 rockslide is probably to many 2-3 would be much better. Also you have to run 4 rakana outlaw it's one of the best cards in the deck. Make these changes and you'll get to gold diamond easy.
right now im in top 10 master with this deck. also i have held rank 1 for a long period of time with skycrag. furnace mage and alpines are staples in this deck
ooh okay. I might give this build a go then looks interesting. alpine tracker doesn't seem good to me though. could you please explain? I feel he will kill your own creatures 50% of the time. Unless they are playing grenadin or an aggro deck i don't see the value.
with all the feln and temporal control out there its better to have even more burst damage. even if you have to kill 1 or 2 of you units it also puts you out of lighting storm range and they have to either harsh or full board clear. that sets up for you to play more 1's or drake. and this deck is holding rank 1 again.
Perhaps you meant Cinder Yeti? Well.. I've looked at this deck and incorporated some of (but not all) of its ideas into my list. And unfortunately there's just no room for Cinder Yeti...
However... It *does* need Kaleb's Choice. This card may not be standard in most lists, but trust me it's a lifesaver. It ought to be run over Furnace Mage because it's far more versatile. Just one hard-countered Harsh Rule or destroyed Bloodletter and you, too, will be convinced.
Tracker is basically a direct counter to Grenadin (timed correctly) and there's a lot of ways to go over their board with things like Drake, Obliterate, and Vadius (eats their board and hard to remove).
Grenadin in particular doesn't really get going until 5 power and if you keep removing their early grenadins before then, it becomes difficult for their come-back to be meaningful. I like holding on to a Tracker specifically for their big board flood turns with that new legendary (can't remember the name of it at the moment).
what's the point of miner's musket?
pressure against slow control decks with some small value added in?
If i face a lot of aggro, may I replace it with something else?
