Information

I didn't know what to call this deck because it doesn't fit neatly into any of the archetypes I've seen thus far and I want to toot my own horn a little here, it's a completely original concept I came up with on my own (insofar as tribal decks can be original concepts). This is the first time I'm posting a deck because I don't think a deck is worth sharing unless it makes Master or is especially fun(and this is both)... so here it is, my first Master-level homebrew. It took me from Gold 2 all the way to Master all on its own.

Now that I've proven this deck is top-tier I want to share it and teach y'all how to use it so here's a bit of a guide:

At first glance this deck seems like it's weak against aggro and against midrange but that's actually the beauty of the concept... it's above average against both- only coming in really weak against decks that are more spell/relic weapon-based than unit-based. Your goal against aggro is to shut it down by throwing every single bit of removal you have against everything as it comes up and developing board control whereas against midrange your goal is similar- to keep them off of the board- but to focus more on developing yours first. Simply put- you're control against aggro and aggro against midrange. This deck relies heavily on tempo in its weak matchups but can actually come back from getting beaten by a slower deck as long as that deck is unit-based.

I'd love to hear your thoughts and suggestions after you've tried it, but please do actually try it first. It plays a lot better than it looks.

Quick note on Unseal: DO NOT REMOVE THIS CARD FROM THIS DECK- YOU WILL LOSE.

Dacivol Eternal Version: 1.27
I don't know how you did it but this deck just seems to be bad. It eats it in the aggro matchup. I'm on a long drive today so I played 20 game and I'm 4-16. Ouch.

Maybe it's just bad luck but I feel like I'm always playing on the backfoot, and I feel like giving opponents nightfall when you're behind on cards, boardstate, and life total pretty much guarantees a loss.

4x winters grasp seems underwhelming. Stray into shadow never turned a game around for me. I'm unimpressed with Lida

I know its been a long time, I kind of lost interest in Eternal for a while after posting this. Lida is a little bit weak, but with a lack of quality weapons and the high opportunity cost of having to poke Aegis the best bet is to cash in a unit in an attack and then to use Lida as a finisher. She's also good against chump blockers for those last few points of damage. Winter's grasp is a Nightfall enabler just as much as it's meant for removal or temporary disables. It's not a strong card on its own but when running this deck you want to keep the aggression up even when the cost of doing business seems unfavorable. Even when this deck is running at full steam you'll rarely have a game that doesn't feel like you're one really bad turn away from losing it, but I've found that the number of dead turns is shockingly low as long as you're not stingy with your cards. As for Stray Into Shadow- that card is an anti-aggro tech choice. I'd plop that down when you have Rindra or Zelia online or when you just can't manage a board of 7 1/1's.

This deck doesn't really run on common sense and I think it's hard to communicate the optimal play in any given turn for it since it's not really constructed with the kind of balance that you would normally expect. The deck worked really well for me and I think it's still a great deck depending on the meta but I played it recently and I realized that it's just too different from everything else. I got my ass kicked against weak starts from other players and annihilated people who had full engines running. It was pretty frustrating and I quit playing with it even with a positive win rate because it was stressful to operate.
