Decided to swap things up after experimenting some and tanking my rank in Expedition. So I hacked this together and went 9-1 from rank 50 to rank 10.

How do you feel about the power base? I’ve tried this list a few times, and the power base just feels terrible. Am I just getting unlucky?

I'll admit the deck is rather greedy, and mana is definitely the roughest part of the deck. That said, Petition can almost always secure what you need. You usually want to get to BBGGGG asap, and the white can typically wait, but always depends what cards are in hand. Almost all openers with 2 power and a Petition are keepable.

Telut instead of rolant?

Would be a big mistake. A large part of what gives this deck an incredible late game are the interactions between Rolant and either Equalize or Shen-Ra. If you have less dudes, they sac down to you and you get that many valkyrie. With Shen-Ra you're left with a valkyrie for each of their dudes.

Now, if Telut cost 5 he would likely have made the cut for the market...

Largely because of influence requirements -- I regard the white in this deck as a splash and thus all white cards I am happy to be able to play on turn 8. Both of these need availability of play starting at turn 2 to maximize value.
Second, what do these cards do that the rest of my deck can't do? I agree I'm short on silence other than Shen-Ra, but I have plenty of ways to deal with threatening units. The only case I see for marshal is Severin as he survives Backbreaker and can be tricky to remove.

You should watch reid duke stream magic sometime, he emphasizes the importance of suggesting cuts when you say thing like " why aren't you playing x card?"

Thinking of adapting this. I only have one Equalize. Do you think the deck can handle being dual-purpose between Crack the Earth and, say, Justice Etchings?

Edit: Just tried it. Not a fan. Guess I'm saving up stone for more equalize. :)

Equalize is very essential! And also probably my favorite card from the latest set, save maybe the greatsword. Sadly the sword is still not quite good enough.. :(
