So a number of weeks back when DoA was added to the format, I realized that it was a "spell that deals damage". Slepher and I brewed up a few really fun decks around Hen, Scrounger, and DoA and then kind of forgot about it. Then, this week, one of TheRocke's brews reminded me of the Downdark + DoA interaction and it was back on the menu. LOA helped with the powerbase and the the rest of team helped with other tuning and testing. The match-ups against Sling and Overloader are tough, so it wasn't right for the Open, but it is still a blast for ladder.
Key Points:
- Scrounger and DoA can chain each other for as long as you have life and cards in your deck. This is the main engine of the deck and is absolutely filthy.
- Cyber Hound can turn DoA into a "Draw 4" and then you can just discard the Hounds to Crafty Occultist to be DoA'd back again.
- Arach is insane in multiples.
- Arach makes MASSIVE Moldermucks (I've won some games from very far behind with 14/4 Muks).
- Grafter is great with Arach and Muck.
- Hidden Achievement: DoA Tessa and hard-cast it.
- Hidden Achievement 2: Draw 6 cards with DoA (double Hound with Tessa in play).
It's worth noting that Tessa might be wrong in the market. Krull or Nectar are other options for that slot but Tessa is just hilarious value with DoA and I couldn't not play that once it was suggested.
Deck name is because were running DoA, can grind forever, and Hound is basically a Xo (but the trove costs 0)
