So...ever since I built the Rakano midrange versatile armory, I decided that hey,
Glory Seeker exists, and that's such a fantastic target for all the versatile relic weapons playable. Furthermore, going FJS opens up yet *another* solid relic weapon in the form of
Reinforced Reaper.
Anyhow, the plan here is simple: play bold adventurers (2/3s for 2) to try and stem the aggro assault, leading into
Dichro, Conqueror.
It's still a bit of a sketchy matchup, simply because the correct painting for this deck doesn't exist (Argenport Painting allows every single 2-drop to be playable here), and the deck is still stuck on using crests due to lack of proper amounts of paintings. Also, the Xultan Conclave doesn't do many favors in the aggro MU, and it's kind of awkward using it for influence with certain relic weapons out.
In any case, I think this deck has play against a large amount of decks in the meta. Against aggro, you have vine grafter, and suiting up glory seeker, along with Dichro and the eremot's designs in the market. Against relics, monarch cloak can silence them (though that'll make the wildlands scavenging in the market dead). Against other midrange, you can smash their units with relic weapons, or display of ambition the really big fatties. Against control, instead of suiting up your units, you just smack them in the face with relic weapons. There are only so many Displays of Survival and Vision of Austerities they can cast. Oh, also, Foxfang Katars breaks the Omen of Austerity curse.
In any case, I find this deck to be a solid, all-arounder, proactive deck with play against large swathes of the meta. The power base, of course, is kind of sketchy, being a 4-painting, no-mark 3F (AKA the worst power base setup a 3F deck in throne can have). Maybe if we get the other paintings next set, this deck will be *even* better, but as things stand, I think this deck is pretty solid.
In any case, feel free to ladder around with it. Is it tier 1 busted? Not sure about that. But I think it has plenty of play to it, and might be something people find enjoyable, especially by armory *or* Rakano Plate aficionados.
Also, I need to finish an R script to help update the shiftstoned Eternal power calculator. Ugh.
Enjoy ^_^
What are your thoughts about Skullhaven Tinker as a grinding tool in this list?
I think I'd also like another versatile weapon in the market as well but I guess that's a personal preference. I'll see after testing out.
Thanks for a great starting base to tinker with!
