Greetings,

Here's another little rinky-dink Shavkan Dogma deck. I love this card and have been running it in a mono-fire deck for quite some time. In contrast to the mono-faction version, this deck uses Steam Sprite and Steam Blast, as well as the Flash Fire + dogma shenanigans. The main tactic of this deck is to stall until you get dogma out and you have enough influence to either BBQ your opponent to death or overwhelm them with the grenadins you're likely to create with Corrosive Dagger.

This deck can often snatch victory from the jaws of defeat from seemingly out of nowhere. I've had many games where I was absolutely going to lose during my opponents next turn until I just happened to have just what I needed that turn to burn down the whole house. There's not too much left to say, but let me point out a few things:

Corrosive Dagger is a no-brainer in this deck. It sets up some defense to let you stall, or it lets you get aggressive with a bunch of annoying little decay-riddled buggers. Plus, it goes well with the aforementioned steam cards. For example, playing the dagger with only 6 influence gets you 3 grenadins and procs Steam Sprite to hit for 4 damage to the opponent at the start of your turn. If your Catalyze happens to draw Steam Sprite, the damage it deals at the beginning of your turn is doubled.

Crest of Fury is excellent in this deck. I know it's a given that the crests are awesome, but scouting with a crest seems particularly useful in this deck.

I was hesitant to include Skycrag Cylix since I didn't want to have to play it without 3 fire or primal influence. But, that's rarely a problem since we can acquire fire influence from so many different sources. I just usually seem to have enough influence that I rarely have to play it depleted. You're not often going to use its draw effect, but it's a bonus when you do. I just wanted as many power cards that give me primal influence while using as few primal sigils as possible.

I generally use Granite Waystone to create a grenadin as discard fodder for Catalyze. It's also good to create the 1/1 so that you have a unit on which to play Corrosive Dagger. It sucks having a ton of influence and no units that can use the dagger.

The market: It's like whatever. It probably needs to change. I'm only adamant about keeping Steam Blast. I'm only using a smuggler in this version of the deck, so I have limited access to the market. I'm working on another version that uses Blazing Salvo and a market full of 2-costs to have more access to the market. For now, I like this version better.

***This is a work in progress. Unlike the other times I've posted works in progress, I'll probably actually edit this deck over the next few days.***

***UPDATE**** I removed Icicles in favor of Blazing Salvo to have a little more access to the market. I think it works better this way. I like icicles, but the deck isn't really hurting for burn damage.

You had me at Steam Sprite.

Nice. It's a pretty sweet card. I actually forgot about it until I happened to pull it out of a pack from a random gold chest. Made me immediately think of Shavkan Dogma and Corrosive Dagger.

I've only got to play two games so far, but I drew Sprite both games, so good times. Looking forward to some more fun with this one.

Awesome. I'm glad you're finding it fun. The real fun starts when you manage to get multiple Sprites in play ;)
