7-0 Makto the Hero Update

Updated my 7-0 Makto list from the previous Hero event to include:

The two new Smugglers- Both can grab any market card and come with good bodies

Ice Bolt- Extremely efficient removal, almost always a live card

Seek Answers- Another turn 2 play that semi tutors for what you need

Siraf- A great early blocker that has relevance mid/late game

(Maybes Include- Xulta Foil, Eilyn the Rising Storm, Mokhnati)

Cards Removed-

Quicksilver Mirror- Great game ender that is too expensive and not always going to be good

Extract- Previously one of our Site answers it has potential to be a mostly dead card compare to Ice Bolt

Winchester/Jennev Merchant- only grabbed 3/5 market cards each and although Winchest was able to block flyers I believe the new Smugglers are an upgrade

Wingbrewer- Great value card, however the body was lackluster and I believe Siraf is better long term value with a better block body for the early game with becoming exhausted

Like, if I had to defend these cards this is the best I can do:

In cold blood: If i'm absolutely desperate to kill a unit and basically lose access to 10 cards. the ability to remove all the copies of a card is useless in this format and I don't see this card being better than pretty much any other removal card
brilliant idea: this card gives me a 2/75 chance to draw 4 or more cards if i'm somehow not in a winning position
westwind herald: somehow i'm going to play this turn 5 and get it to go through so I can play a spell from the void? This card is impossible to defend with re-read being in the game
nightmaw: gives you lethal if you can draw one of the 4 merchants that can pull it the turn before
champion of cunning: if everything goes well you should be able to close the game out with this and a full board

these cards just don't make sense to me

Thanks for leaving a comment! I’ll go through each of these individually:

ICB: Thank you for reminding me about this one, I’ve actually been forgetting about the lose Justice clause and have been meaning to swap it out, may end up being Extract again

West-Wind Herald: it has always been great for me as another removal spell/draw spell/whatever but I can see fitting another good flyer into that slot

Champion of Cunning: Honestly I do play it as a 5 cost 5/5 sometimes but that’s pretty fine and fairly unlikely that it won’t be at least Flying and Aegis. It also has great long term potential.

Brilliant Idea was there as a way to pull ahead against other Control style decks but has potential to be bad for sure, might be better as another unit.

Nightmaw is the game ender that is marketable by any merchant in the deck and is at least an on cost large body with upside if a game drags out my other option there would be Eilyn. Interested in what cards you’d swap out for those you identified. Open to suggestions for sure.
