Information

This is a modified version of the traditional Hooru Fliers. I took out Shelterwing Rider because Vara is too widespread at the moment and despite the fact that Shelterwing combos so unbelievably well with Nostrix and Unseen Commando, I felt that those combos are currently too cute given the dominant decks (HH pings the rider for free and then combusts to remove her out of the sky). I also cut Hooru Pacifier because Vara essentially requires you to run Vanquisher's Blade right now. Weapons are nice when you run Caiphus especially if he rolls Berserk+Double Damage which amounts to 28 damage in one attack if he wears the blade.

However I suspect the optimal Caiphus shells are shadow-based for Dark Return, which is substantially better than Mirror Image. It is also likely that Caiphus wants to be partnered with Jenny, so she can fetch Mirror Image once he is actually on the board. The ability to go Jennev -> Mirror Image at 6 power the turn after you have played Caiphus is extremely strong.

There is probably an argument for a Hailstorm variant of this deck, but I feel it wipes too much of your own board and too many decks currently run units that don't care about Hailstorm (ex. Vara, Vengeance-Seeker, Statuary Maiden, Zuberi, Outlands Warlord, Rizahn, Greatbow Master, Knight-Chancellor Siraf or Caiphus, Wandering King) or the decks themselves don't really care about the impact of the spell (ex. Haunted Highway, Talir Combo, Westwind Combo).

Svetya, Orene of Kosul is a very strong pick at the moment and drawing her alongside Mirror Image can win games right now.

This deck may be stronger in a future meta.

Neat deck idea, I like the sound of Hooru Caiphus a lot! One question though - why Nostrix, Lord of Visions in market? What matchups is he intended to help with?
Prometheus Edited Eternal Version: 1.40
Nostrix is a lategame kill button and synergises with Mirror Image. So one turn you go to market to fetch Nos, next turn you use him, and then the turn after that depending on what's standing you can either clone Nos to empower again or clone the unit you buffed the previous turn.

Making Jenny into an 8/7 then cloning the empowered Jennev with a maindeck mirror only to fetch another mirror, will lead to a board with 3x8/7 Jennies and 1x5/7 Nostrix prior to removal. If they don't have a Vara and a sweeper that will often be enough to seal a game.

Love hooru fliers. I've played a more aggro oriented hooru fliers list with kothon and pacifier. I may want to transition into a midrange shell. I like the path you're taking with this list. Why no kothon? Also, what is the reasoning behind running both lingering influence and seek power?
Prometheus Edited Eternal Version: 1.40
You could play Kothon, but I don't find him super viable in the current meta as less people are running 2/x creatures. He does mesh well with Mirror because you get to activate the ultimate on the clone which is strong.

The idea for the abundant amount of power is to hit 8 and 9 power respectively. Svetya can bring you back into a game on her own by activating her ability for 8 power and 9 power allows you to play Caiphus and clone him on the very same turn before the opponent can use their removal. Towards the mid and endgame you also want the power to hold up Unseal fairly reliably.

Thanks for the quick response. In my playtesting with an aggressive hooru fliers list I can race the Haunted Highway deck and the crownwatch standards have been huge in that regard aswell gaining me precious life total. How does this deck handle the HH matchup? Try and bait removal and get a commando to stick?
Prometheus Edited Eternal Version: 1.40
I think that match-up can be tough for any deck, but you would be mulliganing aggressively for cards like Unseen Commando, Valkyrie Enforcer, Vanquisher's Blade and Permafrost. If you can get a Blade to stick and they don't draw a combust then they will struggle to implement their gameplan. You want to try and hang in there till you can get to Svetya or an Amilli that sticks. HH has very little in the way of answers to Svetya or Amilli especially if you can get a Mirror Image.

In regards to Hooru Aggro, I would recommend these two variations on the archetype:

Spells Don't Matterâ„¢

No Rule's Sky

I think Hooru Aggro probably has to run Pacifier because of how important such a strong 3 drop is in that setup, coupled with berserk and/or Commando it can easily become your MVP and biggest threat on the board. This means you have to sacrifice Vanq Blade and rely on Commando sticking while having spare blockers in the air.

Thank you for your answers. Those are the lists that I've played around with. I climbed to master rank 27, currently around rank 50. I have faced more midrange decks as FTS, FJS and FTJ and the aggressive lists struggles there quite a bit. I'm gonna try out this variant and see how it goes. I'm new to the eternal scene so I appreciate your help. Thanks again.
Prometheus Eternal Version: 1.40
While I do think the Hooru Aggro decks can have surprisingly good matches against HH, they do struggle with FJS Mid and Control lists in my experience.
