Information

7-2 with this list in the event. Eats up all the fire-based aggro decks people are playing. Losses were to bad draws vs a mono-time midrange-ramp list and to a mirror.

Grenadin Drone, Dark Wisp and Obsidian Golem all fight decently well for the board, and the last two generate card advantage. Back-Alley Delinquent is a fantastic creature with a great anti-aggro statline that also generates a Sabotage, letting us get rid of tricks or removal in the opponent's hand. He's also very apt at carrying a Hair-Trigger Pistol, becoming a 4/4 deadly quickdraw unit that, conveniently, dodges 3-damage removal. Corrupted Umbren, usually ends up suited up with a pistol or some Obsidian Armor and hitting for a truckload with lifesteal.

We run a lot of removal so our opponents can't execute their gameplan, giving us time to draw into our Umbren and Pistols. Torch is fantastic, Conflagrate is not as good and can't hit face but the amplify will be useful late-game.
Extract gives us some life and sets up our draws and Vara's Favor is fantastic with all the 1-toughness creatures running around. Execute and Combust take care of big guys our other removal can't handle. Devour keeps our hand well-stocked, and a single copy of Scheme gives us some card selection in longer matchups. It's not a card we want to see twice, though, since spending 3 mana to draw 1 card is suboptimal vs aggro decks, so that's why it's a one-of.

Not happy to report this deck doesn't hold up in the new event. Too many fatty time units. If anyone's come here looking for a deck, try to go taller or include a lot more hard removal like the new eviscerate.

Hats off to this awesome brew! Definitely the "Deck to Beat" if Pauper format is a thing. Had an absolute blast playing it, 7-2 with ease.
The losses are coming from Time decks and one of my wins I was barely surviving thanks to Hair-Trigger Pistol on Corrupted Umbren that discouraged blocking, allowing me to get away with life-steal to buy time and top deck into Combust that ultimately kills off his 11 / 11 fatty (couldn't recall the name).

Overall the deck has issue with big creatures if the removals do not come on time. Extract, Conflagrate and Torch are embarrassing against big units, leaving me with Execute, Combust and a clever Hair-Trigger Pistol to trade their big ones. I wouldn't complain much as I think the deck is already packing the best of removals from Stonescar given the format's restriction, but against Time its a matchup to be careful with.

Time big stuff is definitely one of the deck's worst matchups, but it's hard to find space in the deck for more removal. If DWD supports this as an actual format and time decks start becoming a thing in this hypothetical meta, I'd try to find space for an additional Execute, or maybe 1 or 2 Cut Ties, probably cutting 1 Extract and the Scheme.

7-2, losses were in the mirror matches

The deck is a blast to play and I wish I could just play pauper
ClubbingSealCub Eternal Version: 1.42
I'm really hoping DWD makes a queue for it, not just seasonal events.
Gheecko Eternal Version: 1.42
Got me 0 - 7... Lol! May its just me...
zafuri Eternal Version: 1.42
Mind to share what's your experience with the deck? How did you ended up 0 - 7? And also the general strategy of you playing the deck?
Gheecko Eternal Version: 1.42
That is 0win - 7lose.. You might have took it the other around... ;)
zafuri Eternal Version: 1.42
Yup I'm well aware it's 0win - 7lose, which is why I'm very curious on how you get to such losing streak?
Gheecko Eternal Version: 1.42
If i remember it right i think i usually ran into big creatures.. Then get some influence issues and ran out of cards in hand before i can even build a decent def or attackers...
zafuri Eternal Version: 1.42
Are those Time decks?
The deck has obvious issue against Big Time decks. I managed to escape and appear victorious is 1 of my 3 Time matchups thanks to enough lifegain only. Otherwise, I'm equally doomed.
Madno Eternal Version: 1.42
No, 0 - 7 me too x´DDD
SilentNSly Eternal Version: 1.42
What are your thoughts on adding in Oni Ronin to make it slightly more aggro (and less control)?
ClubbingSealCub Edited Eternal Version: 1.42
That would kind of defeat the purpose of the deck don't you think
Jaqen Eternal Version: 1.42
7-2 here as well. Thanks
Korenthil Eternal Version: 1.42
So far Corrupted Umbren is looking like the strongest common around.
ClubbingSealCub Eternal Version: 1.42
It ends games with the pistol against heavy decks and stonewalls aggro decks. It is, in my opinion, the card to beat in this format.
sto650 Edited Eternal Version: 1.42
This list was the only one that consistently gave me issues for my combrei deck. Beat it a couple times, lost to it a couple times. It's pretty evil though. But I would expect something at least mildly evil from someone who clubs seal cubs.
ClubbingSealCub Eternal Version: 1.42
You have read my name incorrectly, sir. I'm not a seal clubber, I'm a seal cub.
sto650 Eternal Version: 1.42
OK, fair enough. But what's the clubbing part then?
ClubbingSealCub Eternal Version: 1.42
I'm a hip seal ready to mingle and enjoy the night life.
sto650 Eternal Version: 1.42
I see. Sometimes you go ... clubbing.
UtopiaTree Eternal Version: 1.42
ez 7-0, Thank You
ClubbingSealCub Eternal Version: 1.42
glad you enjoyed the deck!
