"Oh, who would ever want to be queen?"
The honey relics archetype has come a long way since the days when its only trick was cheesing opponents with
Tinker Overseer into
Honey Porter. The deck gained new legs (wings?) with the release of
Veena's Masterpiece and
Veena, Rising Queen, and the most recent addition,
Caravan Wingwright, seems like it might be the final piece of the puzzle.
The inclusion of
Lystia, Winged Lantern may come as surprise given her demanding influence requirements, but the ability to activate relics at fast speed synergizes amazingly with Veena, Rising Queen and Veena's Masterpiece. Their abilities can only trigger once per turn, so being able to use them on the opponent's turn as well as our own lets us double-dip on activations. Our ideal setup is to have Veena's Masterpiece in play with Lystia + Veena + Caravan Wingwright on the field. In this scenario, our Veena's Masterpiece, which would normally grant +1/+1 on our turn for 1 power, now distributes +2/+2 worth of stats on both our turn and our opponent's turn for free!
Lured Songbird was recently buffed and, although conditional, paying 2 power for a 4/4 flier is a good enough deal to warrant a couple of copies.
Scared Beetender is an early play that grows, and
Liquid Flame provides some extra burn and honey generation. Not everything can be a synergy pick, unfortunately, so we've got some generically good units to round out the deck:
Dran the Farmer,
Queenguard Elite,
Sky Savior, and the obligatory
Riftfeeder Wasp.
