I brewed this deck last week, but saved playing it until I hit Diamond to push my way to masters with. I almost wonder if I should have tried it in gold since it did so well.
Imbue is a mechanic we all love with
Maveloft Huntress, but it gets even better with
Danica, Runed Witch on board.
This deck has a lot of the standard Elysian Expedition units like
Desert Alchemist,
Magnificent Stranger,
Linrei's Stranger, and
Grodov's Stranger, but what makes the deck interesting is
Reshape.
Turn to Seed would make a viable alternative for Reshape if you don't have the shiftstone, but transforming cards into Seeds you have to deal with later can be problematic. Reshape can blank their entire board. Like this,
for example.
And I almost always transformed the opponent's units and not my own. There's probably a debate as to which is better, but I think given that this deck has two drops, it's safer to hit the opponent and keep them off of the units they know and love.
Inspiring Captain is, generally speaking, a worthless card. Pair it with Danica or Danicas though, and the possibility of drawing 6 or 9 cards for one power is pretty strong. Here's a
clip with Huntress and Danica in action. I didn't get one of Captian.
Champion of Wisdom is probably very underrated in Expedition and quite possibly could be a 4x in this deck. If you can get her in the air as a 6/6 flying for four, you're doing pretty well. There is an argument for going fewer Danica and more Champions. I had considered it.
I've found the market to be pretty damn powerful.
Cirso, the Great Glutton pulled either by
Time Etchings or putting four copies in the deck with
Wasteland Broker is insanely good here.
Striking Snake Formation was always great and sometimes it was the first pull out of the market depending on the match up.
Channel the Tempest is a Broker card entirely, and it's your late, late game finisher.
Swirl the Sands seems like a flex spot. I had
Helio, the Skywinder in there originally, but Helio just seemed wrong based on influence, and I almost never chose it over Cirso or
Grodov's Burden in the late game. Plus, it wasn't fetchable with Etchings.
In the final push and what I was keeping track of, I went 25-11. Aggro was a challenge, to be sure. Against control decks, the deck was great.
Rolant, Iron Tyrant style decks would normally be an issue, but Reshape was the clear MVP in those match ups.
Had some interesting matchups, like an Icebreaker/Stun deck which I went 22 turns with before conceding 8(
Managing Plunder is a skill this deck has helped hone as well, but Danica only ever drew me 1 card in like...40-50 matches? Prolly cuz Cirso is such an easy go-to, and TTS
I've loved Reshape both early, and late for full value, good for ruining many plans, though it's gotten me in trouble a couple times, more often than TTS
Good fun to play, thx *<8)
