So this is my favorite deck I play in Eternal- got myself up to Master #250 two seasons ago. The deck is better than the other popular version of Feln Scream I've seen (played by me, in any case)- mostly from the Market plan employed by this deck. The great thing here is that most of the market cards can be drawn by either merchant, which gives the deck 7 Vara, 7 Mirror Image, 11 Haunting Scream, 8 Rindra, and 8 Feeding Time. There are a few changes I've played around with which I think are flexible slots. One would be switching Rindra to main deck for a Dark Return from main. Another would be the consideration for Poaching Drake over Caiphus. Sounds crazy, right? But between the two, Caiphus is sometimes too slow in aggro matchups- so teching Poaching Drake in an aggro meta is a sound choice, Caiphus being more powerful longterm, but also more of a wildcard- the Drake does its thing earlier with more certainty.
The deck has a ton of fun tricks. The main gameplan is to Vara turn 4. And then Vara the opponent into oblivion. Sure, they may handle 3, or 4, but 6 or 7? You'll be returning them, copying them, playing more, and if the Vara plan goes south then Champion of Cunning and Caiphus or Rindra can do the similar plan. Shakedown and Dusk Raider help smooth early sigil curve, helping you get that critical fourth on curve (which of note is why Crest of Cunning isn't in the deck- it doesn't want to miss the early curve of play). Once Vara is down... do unfair things. Copy it, bring it back, play a new one. You can, for example, Haunting Scream a Vara, then copy it with Mirror Image, the copy will get another trigger being even bigger, have the flying and charge, and stays around after the turn ends. Even better if you have Dusk Raider out to give berserk. Same sort of thing happens with Caiphus, each getting new abilities. I'd personally call the deck a midrange combo deck, though there's not a listing for that. But when you've got a 13/14 flying charge deadly lifesteal berserk Vara in play that's just combo game territory. Two cards to watch out for are Avigraft and Statuary Maiden - imho the best cards against the deck. You've only got Shakedown for Avigraft, and feeding time for Statuary Maiden (trading with the maiden isn't ideal, but sometimes it's the only choice).
Sometimes, you can tutor up tutors, when you really need something. Dark Return or Haunting Scream or Mirror Image a merchant, trade for a market card. The deck relies on the theory of incremental card advantage with card synergy. Essentially, the idea that a card's individual power within the deck shell is increased by a fraction with the use of other cards, which replicated many times significantly increases the overall power of the deck. A large part of piloting this deck in particular is understanding how to market trade effectively in present circumstances; what to trade out as much as what to bring in. Though almost always you're trying to grab Vara first, there are exceptions when you don't. The plan is extremely consistent, though- incredibly so.
This is typically a deck for lucky ones. PLayers who have theirs lands with 25 in the deck... I'm a aprt of the other one. I can just count on my skills and deck building well...
I would not even import it to give it a quick look, if I checked on this. I made 1-5, always because of land drop.
