Alessiless Combrei

Hey everybody!

Right up front, I need to mention where this deck came from. Combrei aggro mid So credit to Aetherllama for the original idea.

When I was trying to figure out what kind of deck Sword of Unity would fit in best, I tried various decks with Alessi, Combrei Archmage, but never found a version that I liked. Keep in mind, this was before Mouche_ won the ETS with his version of Combrei which does play Alessi. Even then, I've continued playing this version because I really like a lot of the things the deck does. Sword of Unity is a very powerful card that can swing games in a pretty crazy way.

This deck utilizes ramp dorks Initiate of the Sands and Auralian Merchant to get us the requisite power to activate Spellcraft on the 3 weapons in the deck, and then powerful efficient units like Awakened Student, Sandstorm Titan, and Predatory Carnosaur along the curve.

Some interesting cards in this deck are Kosul Battlemage and Sheriff Marley. They are mainly in the deck because Aegis units are very useful to put weapons on, and this is a weapon deck at it's heart. Marley has been a little suspect, and I think that if there is anything to change in this deck it starts with her. She's been very clutch in some games, but I think 4 might be too many. I think I might like to play exactly 2, no more and no less.

I think that if you want to play Alessi in your deck, the version that plays Safe Return is your best bet, and she wouldn't be as good in this deck as she would be in that one, so I recommend against adding her because at that point you'd be playing a worse version of a good deck.
