This is my third 7-win Draft of Dusk Road, and all three have been two-color decks.
The last two games of this run were extremely close, with several turns in a row of tooth-and-nail fighting off of topdecks. At 7-1, after a horrible start, I stabilized on 2 health and began to climb back up; about fifteen turns later, I lost to a topdeck that gave two attackers Unblockable. The final match was a disruption-fest, with my opponent removing card after card of mine, while recurring
Clockroaches with
Dark Return (twice over), but I hung on and saved my removal and did my arithmetic for the win. Glad he accepted my friend request :)
This three-way Draft format still feels lousy: the sets are almost at cross-purposes to each other. If nothing else, it makes deck-building much harder, and subject to even more variance than before. My previous run went 0-3 with a deck nearly as promising as this one, for instance, and I only got power screwed in one of those losses.
EDIT: Looking at my other 7-win decks, I notice that they are not merely two-color builds... They are almost one-color builds, where 1/4 to 1/3 of the deck is another color practically splashed in. After the five-color fiesta that was Omens drafting, this meta seems stringent and unforgiving indeed.
