Have you ever wanted to deal 999 direct damage, which can't blocked by aegis? Do you like amplifying, like, A LOT? Then look no further, because this might be the deck for you!
Goal Of The Deck
The main goal of the deck is to play
Pyrotech Explosion and amplify it enough times to one-shot the opponent. Usually x3 is enough (which equals 32 damage), but why stop there? If you manage to amplify merely 8 times, you have reached the damage cap, a single spell can deal in Eternal!
You can refer to the table below to check out which constellations are likely/possible.
Damage | Cost Without Reduction | Cost With 1 Dune Painter Out |
---|
4 | 3 | 3 |
8 | 8 | 7 |
16 | 13 | 11 |
32 | 18 | 15 |
64 | 23 | 19 |
128 | 28 | 23 |
256 | 33 | 27 |
512 | 38 | 31 |
999 | 43 | 35 |
How To Get There
The best way to gain lots of power in one turn is to have
Overloader out in combination with a
Dune Painter or two copies of
Overloader. Then you play one or more Amplify cards (best candidates are:
Shadowsea Expedition,
Vicious Overgrowth and
Iceberg Shineefinder) to generate enough power for a fatal
Pyrotech Explosion. Ideally, all of the required cards are played in the same turn to minimize the room for interaction, but this requires a considerable amount of power (around 8-10). So, usually you will have to play out some combo pieces one or two turns before actually going off. If so, I would prefer to play something like a
Dune Painter or a
Garden of Omens, as
Overloader is really easy to remove.
Deck Breakdown
There are three major categories the cards can be divided into:
1. Part of the Combo
2. Tutors/Card Draw
3. Board Control
Of course some cards are part of more than one category, most notably in no particular order:
-
Shadowsea Expedition: Combo and Card Draw
-
Vicious Overgrowth: Combo and Board Control
-
Pyrotech Explosion: Combo and Board Control
One of the best cards in the entire deck is
Realign the Stars. It is a fast tutor for any card with Amplify - the selection for which I found to be quite acceptable, actually. With it you can look for cards to combo or control the board with.
Eternal Trivia: Did you know that a card cannot be amplified to cost over 100 power?
