Information

Kato is the hot shit, and the new rally is sick as well.

The old version of this deck did well in an era of pre-nerf torch, defiance, vanq, vara, and a whole host of other stuff, and its only gotten better so give it a spin. Only thing I'm not super sure on is the power base, so if you have a better idea leave it in the comments.

PleasingSky4 Eternal Version: 1.51. 1
Have you revisited this list since the expansion dropped today? Im thinking of adding the new Milos.
damballah Eternal Version: 1.51. 1
Yep I’m going to toy with it for sure, likely in place of stinger. If you try it let me know how it goes!
PleasingSky4 Eternal Version: 1.51. 1
I went a little smaller and just swapped the dragons out for Milos. Little more aggressive and been fine so far.

Have you thought of testing Gentle Grazer, for card advantage; Humbug Nest, for reach; or Calibrate, for consistency finding Obelisk?

All of these cards seemed worth testing when I was looking at the set, I've been a long time Tokens player and always tinkering with the list! Would love to hear your input as a fellow Tokens lover.
damballah Eternal Version: 1.50.6
Yeah, I love Grazer actually, I’ve played it in several decks, but the influence demands are super steep, so the deck would need to be largely mono time with a red splash. I’m going to test it further though, it’s been great. Humbug nest I like, but that slot is for assembly line, and I’d prefer one more body over the flying, but I do love the fact that it’s fast, so it could easily be argued to be a better call. Calibrate I like in general, but I’m really trying to play a unit on curve every turn, so I’m not big on fetches in an aggro deck.

If you try any of these let me know how they worked for you, though I do have my eye on grazer for sure.
ETrex4240 Eternal Version: 1.50.6
Definitely influence was/is my concern with the Sloth that could really delay playing it on time to where it is meaningful. But I just see all the upside and think "hey, it's worth a test?"

I have been working on a lower curve tokens list that actually plays both Nest and Line, so far I haven't really missed 1x each Cykalis, Dragon, and Obliterate. The lower curve has been very nice letting me keep much sketchier hands.
damballah Eternal Version: 1.50.6
Prob a good idea to lower the curve, it needs to be fast and go super wide to deal with these Elysian and Combrei decks running around. I’ll try it as well. I’m also worried about the power base p, it seems to hit depleted power too often so I might try diplo seals.

Went from the bottom of Gold 3 to Diamond 3 with only a single loss. Gonna try to push to Master while the meta favors it (couple matches in Diamond so far, both EZ wins). Only deck I lost to was Stonescar Shrine. Opponent highrolled pretty hard. I expect tougher matchups going forward if these token decks become popular enough to mainboard sweepers, but so far so good. It's pretty explosive with Fire Conjuring. T4/T5 wins seem to be really common if you get that out of the market on T3 and have built any sort of board presence. Good shit man!
damballah Eternal Version: 1.50.5
Believe it or not, mainboard sweepers aren’t too big an issue. By late game every grenadin you play is decently huge, and you can outvalue control because you get so many two or three for ones. In addition, there’s enough burn to close out games to the face. I used to have good games against Hooru control when they played hailstorm, harsh, and pre nerf defiance. Just don’t over commit the board.

I’m also testing three rally main deck instead of infestation and one less stinger. If you want to try that, let me know how it works, looking for more explosiveness.

Just hit Master with it today. I started 1 game below D1, and only lost twice on my way back up - once because I forgot to switch from my Expedition deck so that set me back a bit, but after that I had some pretty spectacular games. Love the deck, thanks for the list! Wouldn't say it's T1 (maybe barely even T2?) because it can struggle against some of the more dominant decks when they highroll you, but you can capitalize on their mistakes pretty hard (I think it's because I have only run into one other person using since I started piloting the deck - I don't think the meta really favors it, but it isn't exactly teched against it either).
damballah Eternal Version: 1.50.6
Yeah agreed, it’s basically suicidal to not run prideleader right now, so I swapped it in for cykalis as long these Carver decks are every other game, as well as adding in Tocas. Even Elysian is still tough though. I’ve tried adding in Grazer and combined with prideleader ambush gives great resilience to wipes and weapons, while also advancing board for big rallies and whatnot.
wrathchild Edited Eternal Version: 1.50.6
Yeah, Prideleader is clutch, I had considered swapping it in, but I wanted to give the deck a couple more tries with the changes I'd already made. I ran hot, while also getting in the flow of it, carefully evalutating each and every card to play and overall I feel like I made the best decisions I could. I tend to play pretty aggressively, but I started to play a bit reactively, and baited the bigger plays I expected so I could retaliate hard. Toughest matchup was Even Elysian, but that deck is really predictable now so in the end I didn't have much trouble in that MU.
wrathchild Eternal Version: 1.50.6
I tried your suggested swaps, and they started out pretty strong but as soon as I hit Diamond 1 things got really tough. Keep bouncing between D2 and D1. Still fun when I can pull off the win though!
