The ShiftstonedEternal Power Calculator is a deck-building tool that visualizes your odds of drawing enough Influence and Power based specifically on the cards found in your deck.
I love that this deck is so cheap and only requires 1-2 copies of legendaries compared to other control decks, gives me a taste of control without having to spend a ton of shiftstone to see if I like the archetype. Thanks a bunch! :D
I've been running a mix of counterspells in this style of deck, 3 Backlash and 1 Long Live the Queen and they seem to do a lot of work, ensuring you push through a necessary Harsh Rule or negating a big play from an enemy. Excavate also pairs extremely well with both Long Live the Queen and End of the Story along with giving you access to reuse other spells when you have a lot of power and a source of draw.
Temporal Distortion is so fun to use.
Scorpion wasp is the best card in that matchup and sotsk is the runner up cause they one for one or better with icaria but even without those the matchup is favorable as long as you are cautious about your life total cause they have rizahn and torch to try and burn you out. The bottom line is generally just stay alive and then win slowly with channel on units and sotsk to face
Yeah I've been playing it on ladder all month actually. I fluctuate between rank 200-300 in masters depending on how much skycrag is played that day because that matchup is practically speaking unwinnable. The reason I played this deck in ETS was because I didn't expect much skycrag to be played, and while I was right I got paired aganst NotoriousGHP in the last round of the swiss and in the first round of the top eight :(
Yo I don't really wanna sit down and write a whole matchups guide for this but if anyone has questions about gameplans vs specific archetypes feel free to ask :)
Interesting deck. Been playing it in casual to get used to it. Would you say you're usually wanting to pull Temporal Distortion from the market? I mean assuming you don't need any immediate answers to what the opponent is doing, the game plan is to pull Temporal and go from there?
Recently I've been testing the deck without Temporal in the market. My teammate had a really nice suggestion in Cirso's Choice that has been working quite well in dealing with praxis trying to kill you with obliterate occasionally and helps a little to shore up the awful skycrag matchup. Personally there are very few matchups where Temporal is necessary because the control decks (pretty much just feln) in the meta are still pretty easy matchups without it. Most of the time I'm pulling find the way out of the market because the deck does not play a lot of power but in endgame scenarios the great parliament is much better than Temporal on average (I actually did a manual count of the drawn win percentage of the two cards and the parliament was almost 20% higher)
Temporal Distortion is so fun to use.
