I also went down 1 of each of Devastating Setback and Retribution for 2 copied of Silver Shortsword, which works well to deal with early little threats and then you can replace it with a better weapon and get the +3 armor on the new weapon.
for:
+2 Malediction (works as a solid Harsh Rule 5 and 6 against many decks, but also helps tame a big creature so I can bash it with my weapon)
+2 Defile (another card that combos well with Open Contract)
These are great ideas! I made the changes for testing. I mostly made this deck in response to a reddit thread complaining about unitless decks and grenadin becoming obselete because of Blightmoth.
I've been playing it all day in Gauntlets. One thing for sure, Night will tear you up due to 1 armor weapons. For that reason, I trimmed some things, put Charchain Flail in the market, and put 4 Rakano Artisan in the Main. They work great as an early unit that trades with a lot of things, and it gives your weapons just enough of a boost to make them not quite so frail.
I also lost 2 Gauntlets on the boss stage because vanilla Auric Runehammer and Sword of Icaria can't beat Icaria, the Liberator. I was cruising to a win with a Stormhalt Knife against an empty board and top-decking, and then Icaria wrecked me. I could pop the Aegis once with Harsh Rule, but she dodges nearly everything else. Because of how the deck likes to wipe the board and then deal with individual threats, I'm heavily considering Voprex's Choice, which will also deal with an Icaria without needing to pop Aegis first. The addition of being able to bring a weapon back is a plus too.
I made a few more changes with your input in mind, but I did not intend the deck to deal with gauntlet, and I just lost to a top decked Amilli, MD Edict will make sure Icaria or Amilli aren't as much of a problem, and I added Hammer of Glory for it's effect. As a thought experiment, I am trying to not add a single unit to the deck, but if it takes you in a fun and successful direction, then by all means! If you fall back into this idea, you may want an annihilate for the stray Eremot that will destroy you in one hit ;)
Edict of Makkar can't deal with Icaria by itself. You'd need Edict of Shavka. That's why for a slow spell, I'd still prefer Voprex's Choice. And I see your point about needing a fast removal. I'll probably find a way to slot a couple Annihilate back in.
I changed some numbers around, had a few good runs against creature heavy decks, my biggest fear is shadow icaria, and I changed Runehammer for Nullblade because it can take down either Icaria, then lock them into the void. This could free up Gavel in the market if there are better one drop options but for now extra protection is nice.
I put Deafening Word in the market because it also combos well with 4 main deck Open Contract.

I also did:
-2 Quarry
-1 Charchain Flail
-1 Torch
for:

+2 Defile (another card that combos well with Open Contract)
