A control deck I've been brewing this month and finally cracked masters last night, the gameplan is pretty simple, ramp up and keep the board cleared with shen ra speaks and vestige. In all honesty themarket options suck and you almost always want to grab grodovs burden first, but if you're against aggro you can go for the relic weapon. The biggest tip for mulligans is if you cant cast crack the earth turn one and you have no other ramp, then dont keep that hand.

If you have the Promises of Fireflights campaign (and you should have to play this deck, because Aali is very important here) I found Ixtol, Champion of Grodov as decent replacement. Propably will fit with Martyr chains instead something, but I only have one copy and don't need to craft more for now

Unfortunately any replacements that come even close to his power level are also legendary. Something like 2 secret pages and 2 pit of lekunta comes to mind, this deck is unfortunately tough on the shift stone

Very similar to something I've been running. I've got hammer of authority and stronghold visage in the market, if you're looking for subs. (I think I have them instead of monolith and platemail)

I still mostly grab burden like you said, but the fast spell denial and 4/4 weapon seems better than a 3/3 with a mediocre spellcraft (maybe I am underestimating the draw but I dont see myself paying 7 for a 3/3 draw a card) Visage is handy vs aggro but I havent tried monolith to know if it's good or not.

I tried both those cards, never found a use for visage and I liked the card draw over the stats of hammer. The monolith is sleeper OP because you can charge grodovs stranger lol

Maybe I'll have to give it a go. At first glance it seems underwhelming because stranger is really the only card in the deck that it benefits and I dont like the idea of a 5 mana card and market slot over something so niche, but I suppose getting that draw 2 and sigil off him in the same turn may be worth the fact it doesnt do much else.

There isnt really much for combrei in the 5 mana slot so the market is probably a bit underwhelming no matter how you set it up.

That's the main thing. I never felt I was missing a card I needed in its spot, another niche use is charging the reality warden to kill a site or player which I've done before

Yeah I hear ya. The fact we can get away with arc of sol with only 4 cultists is kind of a testament to how non-competitive the market is.

I really do like visage though. It's been the difference between my relic weapons trading into an extra minion or helped me stabilize until I can shen-ra or hit 9 power for harsh rule quite a few times, while still being a 5 cost relic for all our relic matters cards.
