Information

I know this looks like a pile of jank. This is one of the most fun and powerful decks I've played. It is quite hard to play well and will reward you for making good decisions.

A few basic tips:

Avoid exposing Alessi to removal that doesn't cost a card like Vara's Favor or Heart of the Vault.

Don't commit too much onto the board against a deck with sweepers. Take your time, you usually have inevitability.

On 7 power, you can merchant for parliament to get 2 owls.

It is often correct to save seek power, either to trigger Alessi or delay choosing a color.

svrQQ Eternal Version: 1.37
I don't have Molten Fist. Is Sword of the Sky King or Starsteel Daisho reasonable substitute?
Aetherllama Eternal Version: 1.37
Sky King or Rizahn would be good substitutes.
svrQQ Eternal Version: 1.37
Ok thank you. Is Rizahn a good enough card to randomly put in slow decks whose power base supports him if I'm not sure what else to throw in?
Aetherllama Eternal Version: 1.37
He is good if you have enough spells to give him lifesteal. This deck needs to balance spells with payoffs. You can play Rizahn and he will be good here, but your Alessis and Moments will be worse if you take out spells to fit him in. If you want to improve your aggro matchup at the cost of your midrange/control matchups, you can even take out Moments for Rizahns.
fuzzyfrog Edited Eternal Version: 1.37
Have you considered or tried dropping the Hearts entirely for Rizahns? It would be a lot easier on the mana letting you run a full sweet of just sigils and crests, and make privilege of the rank a viable option.

Something more like this: FTJ Moment w/ Rizahns
Aetherllama Eternal Version: 1.37
Privilege of rank isn't good unless you have a way to discard it. There is enough power in this deck to make HotV fairly reliable. Warp and the summon make HotV a 4 for 1 at best and a 2 for 1 at worst (Rizahn is a 2 for 1 or 1 for 1), there is no other card that provides so much card advantage and board presence for its cost.

I have considered adding Rizahn by replacing the Moments, Harsh Rules, or 1-ofs.
fuzzyfrog Edited Eternal Version: 1.37
You don't ever think privelege is good unless you have a discard outlet? Its a 3 mana spell based +1; not sure why you wouldn't want that. It's been a mainstay for FJS and Hooru control for a while now, even without discard outlets.
Aetherllama Eternal Version: 1.37
It is much worse than find the way, which fixes influence and the echo has synergy with merchants, Alessi, and Moment. As card advantage, Privilege is bad compared to Wisdom or Ancient Lore because it is a dead top deck in the late game.

FJS has quarry and sometimes Tavrod. Hooru decks that have performed well usually do not play Privilege without discard.
fuzzyfrog Eternal Version: 1.37
Fair points, though I think you're underestimating the card a bit. Yes, it's not two spell triggers, but being more power efficient and grabbing depleted sigils gives it the edge over Find the Way in my book.
Kevin Edited Eternal Version: 1.36
I put SHUSH in market instead of praxis banner, can win you games alone, if you hit icaria or amili, cloudmarshal or any deck thats build around 1 or 2 units
run 2 more in deck and 2 purify
Aetherllama Eternal Version: 1.36
I would never put shush in my deck. You could play sandstorm scarf in the market as a better answer to fliers.
TaxMan5x Eternal Version: 1.36
Did you find Moondial wasn't getting the job done? I've grown to like it against control and slower midrange decks.
Aetherllama Eternal Version: 1.36
Moondial is good against slower decks, but I can usually win those matchups without it. I think stand together serves the same purpose and it's more versatile.
aimlessPolymath Eternal Version: 1.36
Could you talk a bit about the Berserk matchup?
Aetherllama Eternal Version: 1.36
It mostly depends on drawing enough early removal. You can hold up torch to blow out their pump spells, but that can be risky. Prioritize killing fliers and rilgon. Play parliament before 8 power if you need the flying blocker. If they play pressgangs of their own and enough aegis units it is not a good matchup, but the other versions will usually lose to a few removal spells.
pigzinzspace Edited Eternal Version: 1.36
Good idie, but,
manabase of this deck broken, I can not stably play HR(5) and HoV(6), constantly failing either colors or mana, you understand it and even put sigil in the market
the deck critically lacks a draw, I get an empty hand to 7-8 mana 2 of 3 games, but this problem can not be solved at all in such colors, maybe the spells are filling the hand with creatures
no protection against flying
formalized my criticism here https://eternalwarcry.com/decks/details/2EAX2lRWLD4/moc-alessi
Aetherllama Eternal Version: 1.36
Over 90% to have 2 justice for harsh rule on 5 power. Over 80% to have influence for Hotv with 6 powers. If you don't have enough threats on 8 power then you probably didn't get maximum value from your cards. Most of the threats are worth 2 cards so you don't need card draw to outvalue control.
Gold47 Eternal Version: 1.36
Didn't like Crownwatch so I've been running Wurmcalling to hose most Praxis units (sans Obelisk) and some extra power instead. Really like it, unless the opponent gets a Teacher hit, then you're just sad. Been playing against a lot of Answer the Call/Kaleb decks so Recombobulate has been surprisingly effective.
Aetherllama Eternal Version: 1.36
Crownwatch pressgang is one of the best cards in the deck, its 4 cards for 4 power. If you want to run Wurmcalling, I suggest you cut the 1-ofs instead. Glad you like the Recombobulates.
Luchito Eternal Version: 1.36
playing vs this is a nightmare. Good job.
Aetherllama Eternal Version: 1.36
You're welcome.
patches115 Eternal Version: 1.36
Fun idea. Just seems bad vs. most decks in the meta right now though. Too slow vs. Control, not enough removal vs. aggro.
Aetherllama Eternal Version: 1.36
Funny how everyone says that, but it keeps winning. I outlast control every time.
BarefootFarmer Eternal Version: 1.36
Yeah, as someone who plays control a lot, I don't want to face this deck. It's similar to Praxis tokens in the fact that you can reload the board over and over and over, eventually running them out of removal. I'm gonna give the list a try later. Recombobulates seem bad but I'll give them a go before swapping them out.
Ninjacan Edited Eternal Version: 1.36
Neat deck. Would love to read a deck description/guide just to see why you picked the cards you did, for instance the one fist and the recombobulates. How good is alessi? Is crownwatch worth 4 slots just for the one target?
The fist, i get the synergy with alessi, but with only 1 fist and zero ways to find it, is it worth the inclusion?
Aetherllama Eternal Version: 1.36
The alessi + crownwatch package is the highlight of the deck, its not about options, its just card advantage and efficiency. I'm not sure if the 1-ofs are optimal, was kinda stretching for the last few slots. It makes sense to me to only play 1 fist and 1 moondial because I don't want to draw multiples. Recombobulate can be card advantage and/or tempo positive, but its awkward sometimes. Not sure what spell would be better in ftj.
Ninjacan Eternal Version: 1.36
Ya, recombob makes sense, was just wondering how it preformed. It's kinda card advantage, but you still have to deal with that threat eventually. But seeing as you upped it to 3 copies, I'm guessing it's been pretty good?
Aetherllama Eternal Version: 1.36
Its been better than runehammer for sure. Ftj just doesn't have any better removal I'm not already playing. That is what makes the pushed spell synergy cards in these colors not broken.
Gaze73 Eternal Version: 1.36
Try good ole Obliterate, I love that spell.
