Greetings once again to one another one of my expensive decks that maybe 2 people in the entire eternal gauntlet community will build. I build fun decks mostly because I have already grinded gauntlet with the best decks. I've gotten to the point of deckbuilding is more fun than actually grinding the game. I only list fun decks that have won at least 3 gauntlets in a row at master. Whether or not someone could pilot my shit decks to 3 silver chests is another matter. The initial thought process on building this menace sling deck is that shadow has the best removal for gauntlet and other controlish gauntlet sling decks kept losing. But then I don't use any of it, oops. That was my initial plan, but then I realized I could just put a lot of burn and win games other than piling on big creatures and winning. This deck was somewhat inspired by
Gauntlet Sling
Grenahen makes this deck cycle, but you throw away your Sling of the Chi, oh well
This deck has multiple win conditions. Draw burn to keep the opponents board clear, burn their face, or just regular ol get
Sling of the Chi and control board. Problems with other sling decks is that if I didn't get
Sling of the Chi I was screwed. I felt hopeless as I laid down a big creature only to see it get
Vanquish or
Slay or pick your removal. Also, the lack of cycling was a problem with other decks. Sure, only
Karvet, Redeemed and
Geminon, the Double Helix are only cards that draw with
Sling of the Chi. By the time you got those cards down you won the game.
Recursion in this deck allow you to only run 12-14 big boys as well as the cycling with
Grenahen and
Crafty Occultist. No need to have more than 14, in fact cutting
Geminon, the Double Helix is probably a good idea. I just put that card in because it looked fancy
Influence can be a problem at times
I have had trouble playing
Maveloft Huntress and
Pyrotech Explosion but other than that once you get to 5 power even
Geminon, the Double Helix should be playable.
Mulligan
Opening hand I try to always find full influence (3 power) and
Sling of the Chi.
Grenahen and burn are also good choices depending on the deck you are facing. I've kept many garbage looking hands only to win, hard to mess this one up.
Market
The market is mostly tailored around
Blazing Salvo. It's nice to turn 3 shoot something then pull an
Annihilate or
Lightning Storm
Some other cards to consider or not consider:
Tasbu, the Forbidden I had this card in the first version of the deck, but it is way too hard to play even with
Karvet, Redeemed. There are not that many creatures to die other than the 2 and 3 drops so I don't think it's that great.
Siege Train If you want to burn more you can trade in
Geminon, the Double Helix for this card
Rost, the Walking Glacier Same problem as
Tasbu, the Forbidden, too much influence.
Mazag, the Waking Terror Could be a good card, the summon doesn't seem too harmful in this deck. I haven't been overwhelmed with fliers enough to put it in.
Exploit My favorite gauntlet card. I can't seem to fit it in because
Grenahen is such a good card that it would be discarded.
Spitflame Draconus Too expensive. I think 6 power for any card in this deck is asking too much.
Kerendon Merchant A better merchant for sure. Although I like using
Maveloft Huntress on
Blight Pass Smuggler
Display of Menace A great card for this deck, and I think it would be better with this than
Geminon, the Double Helix
Any suggestions are welcomed
