"Zzz . . . another boring Hooru Hunt deck — hang on a second — where's Quinn? Where's the maindeck Winter Fox? Is that a . . . Mischief Yeti?"
The Units
Haven Lookout: The perfect 1-drop for an aggressive Hunt deck. Haven Lookout converts our Hunts into damage to the opponent's face. Crafty Infiltration for a Lipa, swing for 5? Yes please.
Mischief Yeti: We need additional 1-drops if we want to get aggressive. A 2/1 for 1 is a fine rate, and we might even get a Snowball with Urge to Feed or Finest Hour.
Preyscouter: The card that makes it all possible. This ravenous little rat is all too happy to Devour the cards we have Hunted to turn the units we play into big scary monsters.
Ranger Prodigy: A Hooru Hunt staple. Hunts every time we play a power.
The Seedtender: Face Aegis is very valuable with all the
Feed the Hecaton decks going around. This is also our best Urge to Feed target.
Whispering Wind: While Whispering Wind may not sport the most aggressive statline, its ability to turn Advantages into actual cards is quite useful. It also gives Haven Lookout +1/+1 when it attacks.
Lipa, Witch of the Woods: You've probably never seen this card before, but just take my word that Hunt 2 on a Flying Aegis unit is pretty decent. Might even be playable outside of Hunt decks, to be honest.
Olos, Elder Ranger: The stats could be better, but Olos can usually get in enough Hunts to make up for it.
Collector Crow: We're only running 1 copy, but it can tutored by discarding a 3-cost card with Whispering Wind. The Crow's Devour ability is a great backup when we haven't been able to stick a Preyscouter.
The Spells
Finest Hour: Plays well with Mischief Yeti and The Seedtender, and can save a unit from an Ignite or Heavy Hail. Worst case, it's 3 damage.
Splatter Tactics: Comes in clutch against surprises like a
Twilight Lantern equipping an
Ossuar Longbow or a Charging
Kaleb, Hero of Thera. Also can be used on our turn to stun 2 units and push damage.
Urge to Feed: It Hunts, it activates The Seedtender and Mischief Yeti,
and it replaces itself? What does this card not do?
Wilderness Delivery: See the market section.
Crafty Infiltration: Best card in the deck. Helps dig for key units like Preyscouter and Lipa, although we'll be happy no matter what we hit thanks to the Hunt 2.
Mirror Image: Did you know that if you play Mirror Image on Lipa, the new Lipa will Hunt again, growing up to +2/+2 larger than the original Lipa? Oh, you did know that. Look, I can't innovate everything, okay?
The Market
Beastly Disruption: It's always nice to have access to a negate against sweepers, and this one even Hunts.
Deep Freeze: Breaks board stalls.
Mistveil Drake: Fast speed face Aegis stops Feed the Hecaton as well as Devour effects like
Fallen Winter.
The Winter Fox: It may be terrible in an opening hand, but the fox is still a good card if we've Hunted enough.
Primal Sigil: Sometimes we just need to hit our power drops.
