Can you even play Nico if he's a X/0 in hand? I'm not sure the decay does anything here.

I would think Zytrom is the entire enabler here and Hearth Smasher is the actual finisher.
Make Nico Cost 0 --> Smasher & Zytrom in play, play Nico like 25 times and deal 1 each time.

Sure, when nico HP becomes 0, play it directly into the void, the Hearth Smasher effect will also trigger.decay can be used on your nico, by making it HP 0. the only drawback as you said, this requires you to play Nico 25 times in a row, Maybe your hand gets cramp. I'm not sure there's a more efficient way to optimize
