Information

Credit to platypeople for the inspiration for this deck - I glanced at a conversation on discord about my previous deck Caiphuscourge and saw their comment "the real combo is Scourge -> Clutchkeeper." It took a few minutes to realize that this is actually just a great idea. Scourge by itself often isn't enough to win games, but following up with a Clutchy or two solves that problem. Compared with my previous idea of using Caiphus recursion, Clutchy requires many fewer slots in the deck and also requires less power total (6 power for Clutchy vs 6+1+6+3 for Caiphus + DR + Caiphus + Mirror Image, say). The best aspect of playing Clutchy is that it fits perfectly with the plan of using Whispering Wind to discard Scourge.

The result of all this is a very focused reanimator deck. There is just one main gameplan (discard Scourge, Grasping it back, use it to bond out a Clutchy or two), but it is a good one and you have lots of card draw and merchants. Shakedown helps to protect Scourge from Permafrost, Desert Marshal, and Valkyrie Enforcer. I'm not sure yet exactly how good the deck is (I am 12-4 with it and rank 8 at the moment), but it feels like a real thing despite the somewhat hilarious-sounding plan of bonding out Clutchy from Scourge.

Why unstable form? Love the deck but I dont know what the goal is with that card...

Any echo card is great with merchants, strategize, song, wind, and observer, and unstable form also gives a bit of extra interaction and ways to break aegis.

Thanks for sharing the list man. Feels great when everything goes according to plan, but would you consider a hailstorm or 2 when facing aggo?
zilfran Eternal Version: 1.40
Hmmm... I'm 0-10 with this deck at Bronze 1 (I set the game aside for a month or two). I wonder if this deck is meta dependent and that Bronze 1 meta is not where it belongs.
patomaru Eternal Version: 1.40
I got all the way through Gold with the Caiphus version. If you are facing a lot of aggro just find room for 3-4 hailstorms. The nice part about the deck is there is so much filtering, you can just ditch the cards if they aren't good in the match up.
mauric Eternal Version: 1.40
yeah totally. Bronze is normally filled with agro decks like rakano and skycrag.

This sure seems like a real deck, at least in this meta. It's such a good counter to FSJ control; they might as well be playing 80 blank cards. And I love how well it flows! Whispering Wind into Jennev for Scourge? So pretty.

Have you considered Chairman's Contract?
isomorphic Eternal Version: 1.40
My original build of the deck had Contracts, but I decided it wasn't worth hurting the powerbase given that the only cards I actually care about milling are the 3 Scourges and the deck does need PPPSS.

ISO YOU CAN'T KEEP DOING THIS TO US FAM THIS IS TOO MUCH GREATNESS MAKE THE BEATINGS STOP PLZ XD
KidSneelock Eternal Version: 1.40
Thoughts on including a Mirror Image in the market as a way to help protect your Scourge from things like SOTSK after it gets played? Or is Scourge usually pretty safe after it lands in your experience?
isomorphic Eternal Version: 1.40
Scourge is usually pretty safe after it lands in the current meta, but also SoTSK is often easily answered with a second copy of Grasping to just bring it back.

Why must you tempt me to craft Clutchkeepers right before a new set? :-P
