Here's a
Volatility-focused take of FPS dragons. Took this to a 17-11 finish in the Spring QCP Challenge event.
Instead of using the earlier dragons and dragon synergy cards (like
Spellbound Vestige), this deck tries to control the early game with a ton of removal, while setting up for playing multiple hard-hitting 5+ power dragons, refilling your hand with Volatilities.
This deck plays similarly to my FJS Volatility lists (
FJS Dragons (2-cost market)), there's a lot of overlap and a similar game plan. It trades out Justice's removal (
Cast into Shadow) and inconsistent sweeper (
Unseen Execution) for more proactive dragons.
Spitflame Draconus plays triple duty, as stun-based removal, a giant threat, and sometimes machine-guns tiny dorks.
Skylord Tolek lets you close games quickly, often out of nowhere, which was a weakness the Justice version sometimes struggled with, while also providing another 5-drop hit off Volatility (in addition to
Eclipse Dragon). Access to a negate in the Market can also be crucial in against many decks.
This deck felt strong, it has a plan or at least strong cards against most decks, and it can be tuned well for specific metas. After seeing a ton of aggro decks in the event, maindecking
Eremot's Designs and or
Sear seems like a good idea. The 2
Soulfire Drakes were meant to improve the late game against more controlling decks and Armory (dying to give the rest of your dragons charge), but in an aggro meta these could be swapped out for the 4th Karvet and Spitflame.
