Since I saw
Scourge of Frosthome I always wanted to build a deck around it and get to masters with it.
Also, for those who don't know,
Scourge of Frosthome effect also applies to sites spells, got a few chuckles when my opponents summoned sites thinking they would get the spells to trigger.
I found ThatResolves
CLUTCHYSCOURGE on youtube and crafted all the needed parts, ran it a couple times and found little tweaks that were needed. Added some
Vara, Vengeance-Seeker to compesate agaisnt midrange and sometimes aggro, tools like Rain of frogs, Hailstorm in the market and one
Royal Decree, the natural
Desecrate inclusion, took
Unstable Form and
Rindra's Choice out since they are not that good and too situational to really help this deck survive.
Piloting this deck feels so good, most of the pieces ask you to think about what to discard and what to play in order to get a desirable
Grasping at Shadows turn 5-6, after you get
Scourge of Frosthome in the field its almost a lock down, next turn bonding the
Clutchkeeper is too much for most decks to handle, getting there requires a learning curve, found myself misplaying a lot cause each match is different in how urgent it is to assemble the combo. This is the bane of heavy spell control decks and other combo decks like reanimators or
Invoke the Waystones that are common in Diamond rank.
Skycrag destroys this deck because of
Permafrost
Xenan relics is also a hard match since it goes wide and large with cards such as
Cryptic Master
Everything else seems fair and winnable.
Agisnt primal control decks be aware of
Royal Decree, if they take any of the combo pieces it's probably game over.
Took 14-6 to reach master.
