Information

Hi everyone!

It took quite some time to get used to the new set and how the cards can be used effectively. After tons of hours and making many many new decks, here's the one i personally like most... maybe because it has the best record of all of them (12-1 overall runs, the loss was against my own stupidity due to making a chain of wrong decisions, happens)

Now the deck

Dichro, Conqueror:
Of course the main focus here is on Dichro, Conqueror, since he got buffed, he turned into a real good card against all sort of aggro decks and gauntlet has a lot of them. All that needs to be done is to reach the power specs and aggro stand no chance. Dichro is untorchable (i dont know if thats even a word) and in combination with Sinister Rumors can be a real pain in the butt to the AI, by either removing their removals or reviving him. (Pops Aegis too)

Not only is Dichro, Conqueror a perfect anti aggro card, he also synergizes extremely well with Statuary Maiden. Turning most AI 1 drops and other potential aggro cards into weapons for ourselves.

Alos Dichro, Conqueror stacks his own ability, if he is to attack with multiple copies. 2x Dichro attacking makes his ability 2x -1/-1, which of course adds up to -2/-2. But even without stacking it up as a kind of mass removal, his ability lasts until our next turn, which also shuts down a good amount of AI decks eg. the Shift one.

All in all Dichro is a multitasker! Only 4 cost, solid body, dodges a good amount of removals, nice ability and Flying+Charge.

Enough about Dichro!

The rest of the deck:
Since the deck runs FJS with a fair share and good amount of power draw in forms of Winchest Cargo and Lost Scroll, there finally is a spot in which From Anguish can decently shine in both its way. Removal and 6 Drop win con.

Removals:
4x Torch - its torch
4x Slay - fast removal
3x Sinister Rumors - don't be scared of using it as a removal aswell
3x From Anguish - not to be underestimated if the AI tries to bring in a biggie in early game
4x Just Desserts - IMO still one of the best removals in the game, because it can also be used offensively
Total: Potentially 18
(If we are to count mini Vara and Dichro as potential removals aswell, then it'd be 25)

Card/power draw:
3x Sinister Rumors - if used to get back something from your void, it could well be a card draw
4x Winchest Cargo - it's mainly used to pull Power cards from the deck to make all cards in the deck available. Yet if it turns into Winchest Contraband it's also an additional card that can either be a good addition to the deck itself or used as market fodder.
2x Lost Scroll - Ramp card to fulfil power requirements or used as market fodder in later game stages
4x Cull the Deck - finding Dichro or Maiden faster
2x Quarry - since there can be only 4 copies of Cull, Quarry is to increase the amount of card digging potential
Total: 15
(when transforming From Anguish Burning Cruelty will also add up to become a potential card draw, adding up to 18)
(the 4 Revenge cards could also be counted towards card draw once they come back with Destiny, adding up to 22)

Bodies:
2x Zido, Cabal Housecat - nasty little creature. I must admit forgetting about that card to begin with and using Tock Tick instead, but I now prefer the contract option on Zido
2x Combrei Lawmage - that actually is a flex spot. I wanted to try this card and it remained in the deck, because it sometimes is useful, yet I don't know if its acting to its full potential
4x Hidden Road Smuggler - I chose this as market access due to Lifesteal only
2x Stonepowder Alchemist - Lifesteal, Revenge, potentially 6 health per. Also a decent blocker.
4x Dichro, Conqueror - Scroll to the top
3x Statuary Maiden - Synergizes well with all the removals, Dichro and Vara + his has deadly and is also untorchable
3x Vara, Vengeance-Seeker - Anti Aegis and Lifesteal
Total: 20
(taking into account Revenge it could add up to 24)

If the Body of the deck is added up with all the hybrid cards it adds up to ~71 cards (taking into account the multiple uses) not counting Power cards here.

Power base:
The power base is a really tricky when trying to make a 3 faction deck.
12 Sources for Fire + 2 with Winchest Cargo
14 sources for Justice + 4 with Winchest Cargo and/or Lost Scroll
14 sources for Shadow + 4 with Winchest Cargo and/or Lost Scroll
I'm personally happy with the power base, eventhough it might run too many depleted power cards for the taste of some ppl, but it works. Especially pointing out the crests to clean up your draw.

Market:
Dichro's Technique - flex spot. Maybe Deepforged Plate or a better hybrid card or even another removal
Cast into Shadow - potential double Removal
Nothing Remains - eventhough we run Revenge stuff, the cost of just 4 made it favoured in comparism to Harsh Rule
Inquisitor Makto - Alternate Win con
Raniya, Wings of the Cabal - flex spot. She used to be there for testing purposes, but isn't really that good.

How to play:
It's a straight forward gameplan. Gain control of the board by either playing the smaller bodies or just using the removals. Once in Midgame get out Dichro & Maiden and start to take advantage of their synergy.

All in all this is a solid Gauntlet deck (otherwise I wouldn't have posted it) which takes a little time to adjust it's playstyle and getting used to its decision making, but once getting the hang of it, it becomes quite fun to use, mainly because it has so many nice effects and decision making coming with it.

Comments and Suggestions are welcome

P.S.
If the deck doesn't work for you, it must not be the decks fault, but it could just be that it doesn't fit your style of playing.

I have a deck similar to this, and I just call it what it is: Jund. 😎
